Quality Technician

11/2013 - 12/2013 Schott Ceran 2000 Chestnut St, Vincennes, IN

• Responsibilities included making quality decisions on all aspects of raw glass to the final ceramized

glass ready to be shipped out to customers.

• Responsible for any quality issues that might arise during the cutting of the glass, the chamfering

process, drilling process and screening process.

• Determined where screening, cutting, chamfering, or drilling defects occurred.

• Performed walk-backs and spot-checks to insure quality.

• If defects detected in mods, place SAP order number on hold, and run a Quality Samples through the

furnaces.

• If Quality Sample came back OK, release mods on hold. If Quality Sample came back NG, insure

Assembly isolate SAP order number, stripped or scrap.

• After ceramization, responsible for any quality issues found during the packaging process. Performed

weekly testing on random samples of ceramized glass: Glass Shrinkage testing, Light transmission

testing, Impact testing, Thickness testing, Werth Machine calibration testing, Spring Hammer testing,

Washer Tank PH testing, and Static Audit Measurements of ceramized glass compared measurements

to control plans and blueprints.

Quality Assurance Receiving Inspection/Quality Engineer

• As a Quality Assurance Receiving Inspection/Quality Engineer (on second shift), responsible for the

quality of all Tier 1 Supplier parts.

• Acted as a quality liaison between the Engineering Department and Tier 1 Part Suppliers.

• Segregated defective parts from the good parts line side.

• Determined if part was an actual defect by utilizing: Inspection Standards, Drawings/Blueprints, Check

Fixtures, and a multitude of other quality standards and quality measurement tools.

• Performed intensive investigations on defective part.

• Root Cause Analysis.

• Issued the non-conformance report to the Tier 1 Suppliers.

• Responsible for quarantining parts for quality issues, safety issues, and FMVSS items.

• Determined proper sort methods, issuance of boundary examples, approved sort work instructions.

• Reviewed countermeasure and approved or denied.

• Repetitive issues traveled to supplier plant and assisted in determining root cause and implementing

cost permanent, cost effective countermeasures.

• Interdepartmental defects: worked collectively, and implemented a cost effective, permanent

countermeasure.

• 4 years on the Quality Assurance Pilot Team, worked on future vehicle projects and managed the

quality of all supplier, hand built prototype parts through finished mass produced parts.

• New plant setup, training, and establishing pilot program. (Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas, TMMTX)

• ISO 9001 Training/Audit Manager for QA Department.
