CLINICAL RESEARCH/ EPIDEMIOLOGY TRAINING
Formal training of epidemiological and statistical techniques from graduate level courses offered at The Ohio State University, college of Public health.
Hospital experience: worked as diabetes educator at the Ohio State University medical center for diabetes care, control and compliance project (DC3). As a diabetes educa tor my responsibilities comprised of enrollment of patients in the study, obtain demographic as well as project specific information from them, help them understand food types and their role in controlling diabetes, educate them to control their diabetes at home after discharge. I also entered the information in database and did subsequent follow ups with enrolled patients telephonic communications. The work resulted in research manuscript submitted to Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism journal.
Data analysis: Extensive experience of data analysis from the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) Study. The data obtained from participants for predication of diabetes on the basis of FINDRISC diabetes score. Logistic regression was used for model prediction and performance of model was checked using ROC curves and C statistics. This work is resulted in a manuscript ready for submission. Currently working on analysis of ARIC data to study predictive variables of 30 day hospital readmission among heart patients.
Experience in analyzing large cohort datasets with STATA and SAS procedures including univariate analysis, linear and logistic regression, ANOVA.
