B.E Final Year Project:

TITLE: “Automatic License Plate Recognition for Vehicle Identification using OCR ”

Description: Here we have developed software for automatic recognition of license plates by

using morphological operations for segmentation of the plate region and characters and further

used OCR for recognition of characters.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY: Worked as the team member for designing and implementation in matlab.

TOOL USED: MATLAB 7.5 TEAM SIZE: 3 Members

M.Tech Individual Projects:

1. TITLE: “Multilevel framework for summarization of surveillance videos”

Description: We propose multilevel framework for summarization of surveillance videos using motion

entropy which maintains chronology by retaining important activities without destroying the temporal

relationship of the activities. We present a mechanism to select salient blocks which can contribute in

the video summarization by propagating motion information from frame level to segment level and

further to block level.

ROLE: Submitted paper for ICVGIP 2012 to be held at IIT, Bombay. Paper published for ICSIP

2014, Bengaluru.

TOOL USED: MS Visual Studio (Open CV library).

2. TITLE: “Framework for Video Summarization”

Description: We propose a framework for summarization of surveillance videos using motion

information ‘ ’ and mutual information ‘I’. We provide four different methods for propagation

of information from lower patch level to higher block level in order to generate a meaningful

summary by retaining important activities without destroying the temporal relationship

between the activities. The motion information is modeled as a GMM for summarization. The

experimental results show better condensed ratios by maintaining the chronology of the

activities.

ROLE: Paper published for NCVPRIPG 2013. Implementation of video summarization code in C.

TOOL USED: Ubuntu 11.04 (Open CV library).
