Objective: I am looking to expand my practice knowledge as a Family
Nurse Practitioner. My interests lie in office/outpatient
health care. I do hold a current DEA license.
Education: August 2001 to July 2005 - - RN-MSN; Georgia Southern
University, Statesboro, GA. I completed the clinical and
didactic requirements for the Family Nurse Practitioner
program. I completed my thesis on childhood overweight and
obesity among Hispanic 3 to 5 year olds in Southeast
Georgia.
August 1999 to May 2001 - - RN-BSN; Georgia Southern University,
Statesboro GA. I completed the required courses that
allowed me to bridge across the Baccalaureate nursing
program and into the Master's degree program.
July 1997 to May 1999 - - Registered Nursing; Middle Georgia College,
Cochran GA. I successfully completed the required course
of study for Registered Nursing and passed the state board
examination in June 1999.
Work
Experience: September 2013 to February 2014 - - Family Nurse Practitioner;
Bohler Family Practice, Brooklet, GA. I practiced as a
Family Nurse Practitioner, under the suepervision of the
physician and senior Nurse Practitioner, providing primary
health care for a wide range of medical conditions in a
rural care setting.
June 2007 to April 2013 - - Family Nurse Practitioner;
The Neurological Center of East Georgia, PC, Statesboro,GA. I
practiced as an FNP in a local neurology practice and built
a successful patient base there under the supervision of
the physician/neurologist.
October 2006 to April 2007 - - Family Nurse Practitioner;
Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, GA. I practiced
general medicine in the student health services department.
April 2006 to September 2006 - - I was not employed during
this period due to a six month sabbatical. Along with my
husband, I hiked almost half of the Appalachian Trail,
after which we travelled parts of the US for 2 months.
October 2005 to March 2006 - - Family Nurse Practitioner;
Georgia Emergency Associates, Savannah, GA. I practiced
emergency medicine in a rural emergency department under
the supervision of physicians and other mid-level
providers.
February 2005 to September 2005 - - Registered Nurse; East
Georgia Regional Medical Center, Statesboro, GA. I worked
as a staff nurse on the Medical-Surgical unit.
March 2004 to February 2005 - - I was a full-time student at Georgia
Southern University, Statesboro, GA, and did not work so
that I could focus my efforts on my education.
September 2001 to March 2004 - - Registered Nurse; East
Georgia Regional Medical Center, Statesboro GA. I worked
as a staff nurse in the Women's Pavilion Newborn Nursery.
May 2000 to August 2001 - - Registered Nurse; Georgia Home
Health Care Agency, Vidalia GA. I worked as an RN-staff
nurse traveling to patients' homes to deliver skilled
nursing care.
May 2000 to August 2001 - - Registered Nurse; Community Home Nursing
Services, Vidalia GA. I was a nursing supervisor for
Personal Service Aids. I went into patients' homes to
monitor the patients' health as well as the work performed
by our home care staff.
November 1999 to April 2000 - - Registered Nurse/Director of Nursing;
Conner Nursing Home, Glenwood GA. I was the Director of
Nursing Services in a 61-bed facility where I oversaw the
care of the residents as well as managing staffing and
staff needs.
