I worked for Eagle Industries for 18 years. Eagle Industries was a small family owned business up 2002
when we started to expand due to the circumstance of the 9-11.
Eagle Industries was a world leader in the production of premium equipment products for the military,
homeland security, and law enforcement agencies. Producing more than 5,000 items including tactical
vests, holsters, insertion extraction harnesses, gear bags, packs, weapon cases, miscellaneous pouches,
and weapon slings for military and law enforcement personnel, Eagle has emerged as one of the most
trusted names in tactical nylon gear. In 2009, Eagle became a wholly owned subsidiary of Alliant
Techsystems, Inc. (ATK).
The opportunity with Eagle at that time was great. I worked my way through the company and had the
opportunity to work with many great people. During my time with Eagle I did Production Scheduling for
8 years for 4 facilities, 2300 employees. Facilities located in Fenton, MO – Lares, Pureto Rico –
Fayetteville North Carolina and Santa Domingo, Dominician Republic.
After Alliant Techsystems, Inc. (ATK) purchased Eagle I was promoted to Manager/ Supervisor Logistics/
Inventory Control. I was given instructions to reduce inventory and to redo the Shipping warehouse in 4
locations (Fenton, MO – Lares, Pureto Rico – Fayetteville North Carolina and Santa Domingo,
Dominican Republic) and Implementation of the MRP system for Inventory Control System.
The last 2 years that I was with ATK, I had the opportunity to visit 6 other facilities to help them train and
to help with the layouts of the Distribution Dept / Shipping Dept. The training was the implementation of
Microsoft Dynamics AX in those facilities. We held many Kaizen events at these facilities to listen to
how the process was to determine where the improvements could be made.
After working with so many people that was how you learn that you are only as good as the people that
stood behind you. Those people are the ones that gave me the knowledge that in return helped when we
were changing things around. I enjoyed my job and had a great career with Eagle/ ATK.
