October 2013 - Present

Responsible for setting up business for a medical device distributorship. This role included developing in-depth Pro forma models, business plan, and an Operating Agreement for owners and investors in the company. This included finding ways to protect the owners through contractual agreements with 3rd parties, providing risk control measures, and determining appropriate methods to manage accounting, finance, and management pieces of the business.

Southern Company is the parent holding company of Alabama, Georgia, Gulf, Mississippi, and Southern Power Company with a portfolio of over 44,000 MWs of electrical generating capacity throughout the United States. As a manager I was involved in the leadership of teams devoted to contracting with end users producing annual revenue of $750 million, with approximately 10 exempt employees in Birmingham, Alabama.

July 2007 – September 2013

Business Development and Contract Manager

Responsible for Retail Contract Management, Energy Trading and Scheduling, development and management of sales team, and compliance with the regulations set forth by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Requirements also included communicating and presenting with executive management on changes in policy development, procedures, and customer growth strategies.

Key Achievements:

• Negotiated 10 year sales contract with Constellation to build the Franklin 3 Combined

Cycle facility with a projected net income of $75 million

• Operations negotiation lead for 7 year sales contract with PMPA with a projected net

income of $56 million

• Negotiated 20 year purchase contract with TradeWinds with projected savings of $45

million

• Negotiated 10 year purchase contract(s) with Southern Power Company for Plant

Dahlberg, Harris 1 & 2, and Franklin 1 with projected savings of $500 million

• Traded over $25 million in 2012 and 2013 along the East Coast of the United States

including Florida, the Carolina’s, and PJM including the addition of 3 customers.

Key Roles:

• Developed performance management tools to track growth of client base. Specifically

implemented direct feed spreadsheets from source data to eliminate possibility of human

error in reporting results.

• Supervised direct reports with results-oriented job descriptions which spelled out tasks to be performed as well as results to be achieved and metrics by which accomplishments would be measured.

• Implemented a performance management system basing appraisals on job descriptions

improving transparency of criteria to workforce and defensibility of management actions using documentation.

• Established a system of behavioral-based interviewing and selection.

• Management of Profit and Loss statements, operating reports, and other financial

statements and communication of that information to Vice President and Executive level

positions

• Cross trained employees to minimize company impact due to employee advances.

• Streamlined management of long-term transmission positions to reduce costs to the retail consumer and increase value to the shareholder.

Hired to increase profit margin, streamline costs, improve efficiency, and mitigate risk. This process included revamping current methodologies and procedures as well as negotiating with 3rd parties for increased efficiencies.

• Managed the operational negotiations of the 10 year Calhoun contract extension adding

$63 million to Alabama Power's cost savings

• Operations negotiation lead for the Alabama Power and Georgia Power Request for

Proposals successfully signing six contracts saving the company an approximate $100 million in production cost savings.

• Presented change to Georgia Power Senior Production officer on changes to operational

management for contract with Florida Power & Light and Progress Energy for annual savings

of $5 million

• Successfully implemented Procedure/Billing & Contract optimization adding over $24

million of annual savings.

responded to inquiries to meet organizational profitability goals.
