ACHIEVEMENTS AND SKILLS
. After being trained in Japan and US by Arakawa Autobody (Toyota's
seating manufacturer), implemented manufacturing system for
automotive seating supplying Toyota. Created a capital budget for a
Greenfield operation for Johnson Controls to assemble complete
seating for Toyota in a Just-In-Time environment. Toyota ordered four
(4) hours ahead and we built and shipped within that time. Our
inventory turns exceeded two-hundred (200) turns per year.
. Using TPS principles managed growth of almost twenty percent (20%) in
one year. I created a plan and it was implemented on-time with lower
operating costs than anticipated. The distribution system had to be
revamped with measurables and information to facilitate the growth,
in which I was the leader of this project.
. Reduced defects from forty-five percent (45%) to four percent (4%).
At Glaval Corporation (a midsize van conversion company that produced
100 vans per day), I implemented a quality, feedback and inventory
system that enabled us to reduce our defects and reduce our
throughput time while building to order.
