BAE SYSTEMS- Sealy, TX

2001 - Present

Purchasing Manager II/Project Manager II, Supply Chain (2007 - Present)

. Led procurement effort that managed a proposal submitted for the JLTV EMD

(Engineering, Manufacturing & Development) Phase for the JLTV Government

awarded Contract. Resulted in a successful contract award to BAE Systems.

Lead the procurement team to a successful early delivery of all vehicles

on contract while managing all vehicle commodities consisting of build-to-

print sheet metal/aluminum/steel fabrications, machined items, castings,

all specialty automotive items designed for military vehicles, specialty

and commercial-off-the-shelf items, fasteners, hoses, fittings, cables,

harnesses, electronics, specialty services, engineering, testing, fluids,

and Intercompany Work required for supporting the Sealy site.

. Managed and supported procurement proposal teams supporting Military

vehicles (FMTV, MATV, MRAP, & JLTV), Commercial Trucks and other

miscellaneous programs. End results led to FAR/DFAR compliant proposals,

passing government audits and contract awards.

. Created agreements for technical and professional services managing

subcontracts that provided specific expertise not available by employees.

Created agreements and worked with Legal team for final approval and

monitor use until expired. Resulted in on time delivery commitments for

all projects.

. Led procurement, managing subcontracts for power-train commodity items

(engines, Transmissions, Brake Systems, Axles) valued at over $500

million in orders. Resulted in meeting contractual on time deliveries to

customers.

. Managed Buyers associated with indirect item and services for Facilities,

Maintenance, and Capital requirements while negotiating supplier long

term agreements that resulted in $300,000 annual savings.

. Procurement Lead that managed the successful contract award for JLTV

prototype vehicles for TD (Tech Development) Phase supporting engineering

and development requirements that lead to the successful contract award

with successful on time delivery of vehicles.

. Managed procurement proposal teams to support MATV, MRAP, JLTV, &

Commercial Trucks and other miscellaneous programs that included all

commodities consisting of engines, transmission, all power-train items,

vehicles, specialty and commercial-off-the-shelf items, fasteners, hoses,

proposals that passed government audits for those type proposals and led

to several government contract awards.

Staff Buyer, Strategic (2003-2007)

Led administration of subcontract procurement of specialized parts and

assemblies used on FMTV A1 (Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles) and MRAP

armor vehicles and sub-contracts of purchase orders in excess of $500

million. Oversaw negotiation, bid, and cost proposals of components and

prepared bid packages; negotiated terms and conditions, non-disclosure

agreements, and long-term Supply Agreements that lead to contract awards

for FMTV. All commodities consisting of engines, transmission, all power-

train items, build-to-print sheet metal/aluminum/steel fabrications,

machined items, castings, axles, all specialty automotive items designed

for military vehicles, specialty and commercial-off-the-shelf items,

fasteners, hoses, fittings, cables, harnesses, electronics, specialty

services, engineering, testing, vehicle test tracks, and Intercompany Work

required for supporting the Sealy site.

. Led procurement team with expediting and supporting engineering with the

development of the ICP (Improved Crew Protection) Cabs for HIMARS (High

Mobility Artillery Rocket System) weapons vehicles. Supported all

testing that led to final success and future award of cab contracts to be

fielded for HIMARS. Commodities included

. Led a cross function team for a proposal that resulted in a long term

agreement for E-coat (Electrocoat) chemicals required for coating all

parts on site that resulted in 22% cost savings plus cost incentive

yearly rebate.

. Managed a procurement team to support new programs and supply base.

Completed quickly to expedite schedule to ramp-up production support.

. Led procurement for successful completion of Maneuver Sustainment Vehicle

(MSV) and trailer for the United States Army R&D Center - TARDEC-NAC.

Provided the customer a review of all of the latest available technology

for supporting the United States Military troops.

. Managed a key non U.S. supplier for introduction of a major crane system

added to a special load handling variant of vehicles for lifting and

transporting ISO Container Systems, a project requiring ITAR

import/export management. Overall final testing led to successful

addition of another vehicle as part of the FMTV family of vehicles to

support future military requirements.

Senior Buyer (2001-2003)

. Managed Subcontract procurement of specialized parts and assemblies used

on Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV). Maintained and

administered the Subcontracts of Purchase Orders for 21 plus different

suppliers used on the FMTV A1 military program valued in access of $800

million. Enforced that each supplier complied with FAR and DFAR

regulations along with import/export regulation.

. Maintained effective delivery follow up on all Purchase Order's, ensuring

delivery schedules are met.
