BFR Systems - Cotelligent - Tekmark Global Solutions (TGS) LLC

LMOS Project 1997-2006 (Sept)

System Tester

LMOS (Loop Management Operating System) is a telecom product that changed

hands 3 times during my time of work on it. First it was outsourced to BFR

Systems. Then Cotelligent bought BFR Systems and gained the right to the

outsourced project. After that, LMOS was licensed to TGS (Tekmark Global

Solutions, LLC.) was a System Tester while it was still in BFR's hands.

Then continued with the product even when it was licensed to TGS

When first started with the LMOS team, it was used by most all of the

RBOCS:

SBC, US WEST (QWEST), Bell Atlantic (Verizon), Cincinnati Bell (CBT), and

Bell South. Much later some of the RBOCs found other ways to provide what

LMOS had to offer.

LMOS is a telecom product which deals with the full life-cycle of a trouble

based on a problem with telephone service. The customer calls in the

trouble to the appropriate RBOC (Regional Bell Operating Company). It is

entered using a mask on which data is populated. The problem is tested by

sending it to

MLT (Mechanized Loop Testing) - The trouble's status is tracked using

reports and other masks. The trouble is dispatched to a Craft person and

eventually recorded as closed. All the records are kept in a HOST database

and a subset of them in a local database.

plans, some with 100s of cases, wrote tools to automate testing in

shell and/or awk

. Assisted other team members to write shell/awk based scripts

. Wrote tools which other testers used to automate testing

. Successfully tested an Informix RDBMS project verifying cases with SQL

scripts

. Competently identified 100s of software problems

. Worked with developers to debug, validate, and resolve system issues

and find solutions

Michael V. Grace Page 4 of 4

. Participated in programming code and documentation reviews (moderated,

recorded, read) for most of them

. Successfully functioned as Feature Coordinator for an important Bell

South related project.
