I am pursuing a full time technical writing or editing position. Writing and editing technical

documents for correctness and ease of use interests me a great deal, and I desire to work within a

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Throughout school I participated in several different programs from which I gained important

knowledge and experience. I have recently been working towards a Bachelor of Science in

Business Administration from Auburn University. My Technical and Professional

Communication courses at Auburn included document editing, technical writing, document and

web page design, and one-voicing documents from several different authors. I have completed

course work in several areas of business including accounting, finance, marketing, management,

and supply chain management. The knowledge gained from my English degree became an asset

in preparing documents for business courses that required knowledge on how to prepare

documents for readability and cost. I have volunteered with Habitat for Humanity constructing

new homes and learning the importance of teamwork on large projects. I spent a year as a

substitute teacher; my experiences with the students, teachers, and internal workings of an

educational institution were invaluable. During my year as with Huntsville City Schools, I was

honored to contribute my editing and document design skills to school flyers, guidance

department newsletters, and the Applied Math and Science Academy brochure. I am currently

shadowing a technical writer at an engineering firm, and substitute teaching. I have observed,

and in some cases assisted on, proposal development from the original RFP, to previous work

samples, and Red Team edits.
