Project Objective:
Description The scope of this project is to make the existing DC
application to take care of the allocation process.
Allocation redesign is an annex to the existing DC
Application (Distribution centre management system
which takes care of all the inbound activities of the
Distribution centre). The Allocation Redesign
application is coded in C# which uses WCF, MSMQ,
Webservices and Enterprise library. The database is
in SQL Server 2000. The stored procedures are used to

3. RSC Tablet PC Applications(COGNIZANT)
Project Name VB 6 Migration - RSC Tablet PC Applications -
OUTBOUND.NET
Client Ace Hardware
Role Developer
Technical VB.NET and DB2
Environment
Project
Description Objective:
Outbound scanning application was coded in Visual
Basic 6.0 with ADO Data Access method. The database
is in AS/400. The stored procedures are used to
formulate the business cases and to update the tables
on the AS/400. This application runs on the 5055
Vehicle mount computers and also on few CV60 Vehicle
mount computers in all warehouses of Ace Hardware.
These computers are mounted on the cart/fork-lifts
that order fillers use to fill the orders in the
warehouse. The PCs have touch screens and they are
connected to the scanners. These scanners act as an
input port and scan the barcode on the item.
The application allows the user to fill the orders
for the stores. Within the Outbound Scanning option
in the application the user can select anyone of the
following profiles and each of them perform a
different function - Order Filler, Exception Filler,
Plugger, Markout Filler, Packing Person and Reserve
Filler.

4. Global Replenishment System(COGNIZANT)
Project's Developing GRS-Dynamic Daily Percent
Name Developing Formula code 94-Perishable New store
distribution orders
Client Wal-Mart
Role Developer
Technical VB.NET, Asp .Net and DB2
Environment
Project
Description Customer's daily shopping patterns vary from store to
store. Events that can shift the daily patterns
include holidays, special events, seasonal changes
and the first of the month shopping activity.
The forecast system calculates a weekly forecast, but
relies on the daily percentages from the Inforem
policy to spread the forecast across the week. This
helps ensures that the merchandise arrives at the
store on the right day of the week to meet customer
demand.
Formula Code 94 - One opportunity with distribution
freight (Formula Code 94) is that you carry no buffer
stock to support a new store opening. Perishable
product has a limited shelf life and the current
process to start replenishment for a new store is
done at a set time (2 weeks) before the new store
opens and involves a manual process to take place.
The system today will not support the ordering of
product in relation to the opening date of a new
store without manual intervention. The result of this
is a new store could open with no product or product
that is past shelf life guidelines, which is a direct
impact to freshness.
