pressure piping and mechanical installation experience with site

management experience on shore and off.. Having recently completed a four

year bio fuel plant project in Vanuatu, I am currently working on rostered

This was a unique project for which I was responsible from conception

through hands-on construction to commissioning and operational management.

With Vanuatu facing exorbitant imported fuel prices, our vision was to

utilise abundant coconut palm trees to create a locally owned and operated

palm oil mill and bio fuel refinery on Epi Island. The mill and refinery

are producing in accordance with stakeholder expectations; delivering an

affordable bio-fuel alternative for the population of Vanuatu; and

providing sustainable employment to the people of Epi Island.

Planning

. Conducted a Feasibility Study including national and international

research; engaging and consulting with subject matter experts; and

developing the supply chain model.

. Presented the study to the investor group and secured approval to

proceed.

. Developed technical drawings for the wharf, factory, production line,

housing and roads.

. Developed a detailed project plan including resource acquisition and

management, staffing and logistics.

. Established supply chains and sourced internationally to procure plant

and equipment within budget.

Construction

. Designed and custom built a company Barge Epi Dream with a colleague

in New Zealand and skippered it back to Vanuatu.

. Co-Skippered the barge to collect and deliver large plant and

equipment along with building materials and supplies to the island.

. Employed, trained and supervised a team of indigenous islanders with a

workforce of approximately 40.

. Managed the construction of the wharf, factory, roads and

accommodation facilities.

. Provided project updates to the owner.

. Utilised the full diversity of my engineering and construction

knowledge and applied the full breadth of my tradesman-ship in the

hands-on construction and leadership of the site.
