PERSONAL STATEMENT
Having just relocated from Exeter I am looking for
an opportunity to work within an ambitious and
progressive school. I have a genuine interest in
both young people and education and aspire to teach
in the future. For the past few years I have been
working at Exeter Royal Academy For Deaf Education
as an LSA. During this time I worked with both
groups of learners and also on a 1:1 basis. I'm a
dedicated individual and I thrive when working
within a team, although equally I'm confident and
efficient when working alone. I will always
recognize when to ask for guidance, or pass
something on, particularly if it is regarding the
safeguarding or welfare of any individual. I am
committed to equal opportunities and treat
everybody with respect.
I'm currently looking to work as a learning support
assistant. I have all relevant GCSE's, and although
I do not have an NVQ, I would welcome any
opportunity to attain one. For me, I want to gain
as much knowledge as I can within the education
setting, whilst doing a job I truly love and can
feel passionate about.
Although I do have my own aspirations to teach, I
am very aware of the role of LSA and how I can
support the teacher both in and out of their
lessons. Being adaptable is one of my strengths; I
have an understanding of how learners progress at
their own rate, some needing more support than
others. I will always take time to make sure the
learner understands the concept of the work,
thinking on the spot of how to support each
individual and what level of support he or she may
need.
I am a reliable, supportive and enthusiastic
individual who is passionate about working with
young people. I am able to build long lasting,
trusting relationships with others, both work
colleagues and students alike, with a proven
ability to encourage young people to achieve their
potential by stimulating their enthusiasm for
learning and also their determination to succeed
whilst promoting independence. I have a calm
temperament and a lot of patience; I'm a good
listener and an excellent communicator. I use BSL,
SSE and spoken English and can adapt my register to
suit any individuals' communication needs. I'm
extremely flexible with a positive attitude. I have
awareness, I always act with integrity and I always
give my all, regardless of how I might be feeling.
I have an understanding of young people and find I
can easily relate to them. I have a lot of
experience working with learners on the autistic
spectrum, and for the past few years have been
working with SEN. Working within a school gives me
great job satisfaction, I value waking up and
looking forward to my day at work.
With regard to the start date, I am available from
the beginning of March.
