• Worked with security staff to identify ways security team could add value during period of anticipated
downsizing. Became known as the security staff that does more than security. Proactive approach was
embraced by management and, as a result, we were given permission to add security staff while other
departments were cutting.
• To prevent theft recruited a “Block Watch” team consisting of Nurses, Pharmacists and Administrators to
be “extra eyes” in each area of a facility that would be closing down. Thefts and losses were reduced by ~ 75%
from the time the team went operational until the doors of the facility were closed. Received verbal
commendation from CEO for implementing the idea.
• Consolidated two different “ID Badge” systems into a universal access control card system. Convinced
management that new system would add value by creating one access control card that would serve all
facilities’ doors, parking lots, payroll deductions for employee medications at pharmacy, gift shop purchases,
employee cafeteria meals and Accudose machines.
• Performed in-depth risk and vulnerability assessments of perimeter doors, air handling systems, roof
