Profile

I started my career as an apprentice chef at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London in 1969,

qualifying in 1971. I then moved to Kent and became second chef and eventually head chef at

The Park Gate Restaurant in Hollingbourne. In 1975 I joined The Who da Thought It Pub

Restaurant in Grafty Green Kent, this led me to take my own tenancy at The Harrow Public

House in Stockbury Kent, which, in 1992, I purchased from Courage Brewery and ran as a

freehouse until my semi retirement in 2005. In 2006 I was offered the unique opportunity of

running a garden furniture franchise for Nova of Faversham who imported premium goods. In

2009 Reigate Garden Furniture took over and I continued to work for them selling a very wide

range of garden leisure products and cane conservatory furniture.

Whilst working for Reigate Garden Furniture I notified my employer of the availability of

another franchise outlet for the company which proved to be a very successful acquisition.
