To: Whom it may concern
I am applying for the Customer Service Sales Manager Position. I have just returned from ten months abroad
working and travelling in Australia and Southeast Asia. I am currently on the hunt for an opportunity to establish
myself professionally in my own community.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in English & Cultural Studies, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism and I have my
Certificate to Teach English as a Second Language (TEFL/TESOL). I have a very well rounded background of
work experience. Most recently, I have worked in Hospitality and Tourism in both administrative and hands on
roles. I also have experience working in the Media Industry as a freelance journalist, production assistant and as a
Chase Producer for CTV Newschannel. I have also done contract work as an ESL teacher working with recently
immigrated international students and the majority of my employment during school was as a customer service
agent. All of these have one common theme – I get to talk to people all day long! I have learned how to gage
things like body language and tone of voice in order to properly read each individual that I encounter. I have also
learned what amazing things a smile can do (even over the phone!) and the value in “killing with kindness”.
I am a very hardworking, honest, vibrant young woman and I have been exploring a variety of channels that
interest me in a professional context. When I am not working, I am travelling. I have visited ten different countries
and spent more than two years abroad volunteering, working and backpacking since graduating from my post
secondary education. I like to take risks, observe details and solve problems in my everyday and working life just
like I do when I am travelling. I think that the practical skills learned while travelling are invaluable in any
professional context. You learn how to have patience, communicate effectively, use common sense, have a
proactive attitude in the face of challenges and be flexible and adaptable when faced with unexpected obstacles
or changes.
I like the idea of working in customer service role and I have enjoyed it in the past because it puts me in a position
where I get to communicate with people as a necessary primary function and because the role can often require a
lot of multi tasking and fast paced days which I absolutely love. I very much enjoy daily challenges. I find that the
level of organization and the need to be able to think on your feet when people ask questions are both aspects of
customer service that I enjoy participating in.
I think that I would be an ideal candidate for this position. I have my own transportation, I am available to work
immediately and I am looking for something very permanent right now – I will not flake out on you any time soon!
You can contact me via email or on my mobile phone at 647-***-****.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Danielle A. Marr
