Selected Accomplishments
Achieved 150% of annual goal with 20% less manpower. DNV GL client raised
annual goal but cut labor budget. Reorganized team and refocused marketing
on high volume/lower cost program participants. Achieved record energy
savings and met/exceeded 100% of five annual performance metrics, earning
$250K retention.
Developed new strategic plan for regional consulting office. Consulting
office lacked basic operational and strategic plans. Took the lead and
collaborated with managers in Sales, Marketing, Administration, Engineering
and Data Analysis to create strategic plan with key objectives, tactics,
timelines and ownership details
Led design and startup of standby power venture for Wisconsin Gas. Company
was launching its first new business initiative in years. Named GM,
assembled small marketing, sales, customer service and logistics team.
Managed unit to first year sales 24% over goal, controlling startup costs
and margins to achieve profitability.
Directed eight "change" teams to produce $4.8M in annual savings. Wisconsin
Gas (WGC) was starting a multi-year corporate change initiative. Led
Assessment, Planning & Design Phases as well as five implementation teams.
Reengineering of 20 major business processes supported 35% staff reduction,
cut cycle times 50%.
Turnaround leads to 22% year-over-year revenue growth. Sales & profits at
WGC commercial leasing unit were flat. Took over and quickly set more
aggressive sales goals, redesigned sales processes and expanded the
business footprint. Increased annual leases from 15 to 400+ and improved
net profits 455% over seven years.
Saved $1.6M over two years with Geographical Information System (GIS). New
GIS technology had obvious potential for WGC. Named Project Sponsor for
demonstration project and worked closely with IT for months. Successful GIS
was later fully-implemented for Engineering, Construction, Distribution and
Customer Service.
Career History
Program Operations Manager, DNV GL Energy and Sustainability, 2011-2013.
Led a team of up to 42 staff with a $30M budget engaged in residential,
commercial and industrial energy efficiency consulting. Achieved 150% of
annual goal and met or exceeded all key performance metrics with 20% less
staff.
Project Manager, Independent Consultant, 2002-2011. Advisory & consulting
services in transformational change management and program development in
various industries, including medical informatics education.
General Manager, Power Now!, a unit of WE Energies, 1999-2002. Full P&L for
startup standby power generation venture begun by Wisconsin Gas and
acquired by WE Energies. Led and developed profitable $4.2M business.
Earlier: 15+ years with Wisconsin Gas (WGC) as Director, New Business
Development and WGC Leasing Manager, among others. Led highly-successful
WGC restructuring to save $4.8M as Reengineering Project Mgr.
