railroad movement, crushing and shipping departments.
"Direct reports", supervise 10 production managers and "Indirect reports",
150 hourly employees. Responsibilities also include the five business

maintenance of a continuous anneal, box anneal and coil cleaner line.
Gary 84" Hot Strip Mill. Combustion Engineer. Responsible for the operation
of 4 reheat furnaces and 2 waste heat boilers. Evaluated fuel usage,
analyzed production, maintenance and quality issues and implemented
corrective actions.
Gary Coke Plant. Desulfurization Manager. Coordinated the successful
construction and start up of a new desulfurization facility.
Responsibilities included hiring, training employees, purchasing supplies,
contacting vendors, organizing in-bound and out- bound shipments,
developing budget and operating and maintaining facility. Implemented
process safety management program.
Gary Coke Plant. Coke Production Area Manager. Managed 32 maintenance and
operating supervisors. Responsible for (4) four by-product coke batteries
employing 265 maintenance and operating employees. Job objectives included
compliance with safety, quality, environmental, cost and productivity
goals.
Gary Coke Plant. Chemical Area Manager. Managed 15 maintenance and
operating supervisors. Responsible for the continual production and
cleaning of coke oven gas from 4 by-product coke batteries producing
approximately 100 million cubic feet of coke gas per day. Major job
requirements included the compliance of 120 employees with the plant
safety, quality, environmental, cost and productivity goals.

General laborer/Shift Supervisor. Worked as battery door machine operator,
charge car operator, quench car operator, pusher operator and screening
station operator. Promoted to battery shift supervisor in 1979. Supervised
