Profile
Hi my name is Daniel Harris, I am a versatile illustrator who has recently
completed my final year at the University of Wolverhampton, receiving a BA
Hons in Illustration. I am extremely eager and enthusiastic to commence my
career as an illustrator or graphic designer and develop my skills and
knowledge in the creative industry. I would describe myself as being
artistically talented, combining a creative mind with an eye for detail to
produce some great pieces of work. I'm polite, thoughtful and a valued
member of any team.
Skills
. Ability to produce work quickly and to a good standard. I'm reliable
and meet all deadlines.
. Talented drawer and painter which I incorporate into my work.
. Excellent photographic skills, which also makes an appearance in my
work.
. Extremely experienced in IT and skilled in a wide number of computer
programmes including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. I am also a
very quick learner in using different techniques and mastering new
programmes.
. Good communicator and can work as either part of a team or
individually.
Graphic Design work experience
. Myself and two other students were chosen by my lecturer at university
out of the hundreds of people that were on my course to work with
Dudley council. We produced a number of images that were used as part
of a music video to promote the awareness of gang culture and knife
crime. I worked closely with my fellow illustrators and produced
roughly 6 images each coinciding with the lyrics that we were given by
the council. To give us inspiration we met with youngsters who used to
be involved with this type of crime and who have turned their lives
round.
. Produced a CD package for a local band who approached me to design
their debut CD cover. This included a CD cover and inlay
incorporating the theme of their lyrical content and style.
. Currently working on a logo for a new courier service based in
Scotland.
Working style
. My style is a blend of painting, drawing, photography, found objects
and printmaking that I fuse together using Photoshop. I have
experience with producing, book covers, children's books, CD covers,
leaflets, posters, graphic novels and logos.
