M y responsibilities included implementing the entire quality system for the
e ngineering facility in Plymouth, M I, the manufacturing facilities in Louisville, KY,
a nd Windsor, Ont. I implemented the APQP process at our manufacturing facilities
for both assembly manufacturing and as a supplier to major OEMs. I created a
Seven Phase APQP t racking tool to be used again at assembly plants and as a Tier
1. My job also included reviewing and giving dispositions to PPAP packages for all
components, creating a Lesson Learned data base for component and assembly
design, engineering, at the component supplier level and at the Westport assembly
f acilities. I performed periodic audits at the Louisville, KY and Windsor, Ontario
f acilities which included, 5S, P rocess Control Plan, Process FE MA, Assembly
L ayered and health and safety. One of my duties was to hire and t rain the quality
personnel at the Louisville, KY plant. I had created over 75 quality documents as
w ell as the document control system at our engineering facility in Plymouth, M I. I
a lso reviewed and edited all component and assembly drawings for the appropriate
use of geometric dimensions and tolerance. I was initially hired as a contract
employee January of 2012 and became a direct Westport employee February of
2012.

Supplier Qual ity Engineer - (Apri l 1, 2011 - December 30, 2012)
M y responsibilities at T ransGlobal centered on performing the APQP and PPAP
activity for two major OEM customers. One project was the carbon fiber hood
scoop for the 2012 limited edition Chevrolet Camero. The other project was
working with my eventual next employer, Westport for the alternative fuel system
on the Ford F250 pickups. I became the lead for proofing component and assembly
d rawing for errors and appropriate GDT - Geometric Dimensional Tolerance
correctness. I was the entire quality department with no staff.

S upplier Qua l ity Engineer - (M a rch 14, 2011 - Apri l 27,
2011)
I performed APQP project and PPAP reviews at various component suppliers.
T he main stream part components at Keiper were vehicle seat t rack assemblies
m anufactured for JC I. The PPAP packages that I reviewed included, dimensional
verification, process flow, process control plan, process fame, capability studies,
gage R/R, material certifications, validation and performance testing results. At the
t ime of my short term employment at Keiper I was a contract employee with Altair
E ngineering in T roy, M I. I n late April of 2011, JC I closed this facility and moved the
operation to their head quarters located in Plymouth, M I. Contract employees did
not receive an invite to extend employment.

S upplier Qual ity Engineer - (J anua ry 31, 2011 - M a rch 11, 2011)
I accepted a short term contract consulting position developing root cause
a nalysis for part component quality issues. I also worked with the production staff
t o increase capacity, reducing and eliminating bottlenecks and constraints, lean
m anufacturing. This position was during the initial launch of the complete seat
assemblies for the new Ford Focus program. My task was critical in the reduction
of 175 initial production issues to 30 issues when I left.

Supplier Qual ity Engineer - (July 1, 1985 - December 3, 2010)
• Twenty-five years of developing reliable suppliers by assessing supplier
capabilities, providing performance improvement methods. Applied advanced
k nowledge of manufacturing and engineering processes to guide the improvement
of supplier performance in quality, service, and price through product lifecycle.
• Team member on the Global QRD War ranty, for the power window regulator
commodity. Through analysis of market data, developed war ranty targets for
w indow regulators and gas assisted hood and lift gate struts. Achieved 75%
r eduction in 6 months for window regulators (EPV) -events per vehicle. (2006-2007).
• T rainer and Mentor for new SQ Engineers. Planned and administered t raining
sessions covering: computer systems, safety regulations at the GM Tech Center and
t he assembly plants, technical and non-technical instructions for supplier quality
d aily performance requirements. (1986-2008).
• Accomplished personal goal of obtaining $3M in cost savings, approved on
vehicle for window regulators and gas struts. (2007).
• Group leader for SQE cost savings initiative. Developed upper management cost
saving t racking met rics. Planned savings strategy, created business plan and
p ursued top management approval for SQE based cost saving initiatives.
Personally negotiated with engineering managers to get the suggestions approved
a nd on vehicle. Achieved Group of $8.6M approved on vehicle and $79M at various
stages of pending. (2006-2008).

• Selected at the director level to be on the special panel of O utstanding
Performers. The panel used industry experience to determine GM SQE Best
P ractices. The group’s output was documented and published within the SQE
o rganization. Utilizing Time-Management became a team focus topic and is
something I strongly believe in. (2008).
• Selected as a team member for the development and enhancing of various
computer data bases for supplier quality and purchasing. Assisted with the design,
t esting and implementation of the GP3 and GQTS, supplier quality systems. (1987-
1996).
• Selected as the liaison working with the Buick and Oldsmobile divisions for the
M ilford P roving Grounds. Responsibilities included problem resolution of supplier
p art issues for, fit, form, function, squeak and rattle. (1989-1995).
• Personally authored and administered a PPAP-101 test for the entire supplier
q uality organization. Questions were developed using my 21 years of supplier
q uality experience to establish a skill level to benchmark all supplier quality
e ngineers. (2006).

I executed precision surface grinding on various types of cutting tools for
a utomotive and aerospace. As the supervisor, I led the entire grinding department.
D uties included final inspection of all production within the grinding department.
D u ring this job I developed the air-filtration system within the tooling department,
w hich eliminated 80-90% of airborne contaminates.
