HR Alignment Strategies Conflict Resolution OD/OE

Team focused Human Resource Executive with 20+ years of progressive experience in multiple Fortune 100/500 companies as a senior level manager with specific expertise in managing sales, engineering, marketing and manufacturing organizations. Versed in the creation of corporate strategic goals and team based action plans which includes the implementation of organizational performance metrics, cultural transformation methods and continuous improvement tools.

A proven game changer, with a history of managing HR teams in the following industries: Chip Manufacturing, Computer, Specialty Chemicals, Computer Networking and Distribution Centers. An insightful, hands-on leader with a highly transferrable skill set, who fosters working relationships between company stakeholders and their downstream customers in order to maintain a clear understanding of their daily performance to the customer’s expectations.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

• International Experience: Developed strategies for aligning LATAM cultural practices to more fully align with the corporate culture in treating associates with dignity & respect and mitigating third party intervention.

• Successful Change Agent: Developed a strategy to help mitigate the loss of millions of dollars. This financial hemorrhaging required movement of part of the business to another BU, conducted a “limited restructure” and reshuffling, internally, talent that possessed the skill sets to help us sustain an important part of our business.

• Transformational Leader: I chaired the Senior Leadership Council at Cisco Systems. The leadership council comprised the top executives on campus (directors, VPs and GMs) across multiple functions. I was able to get Roger Staubach, former Dallas Cowboy Quarterback and Hall of Famer, to speak at an event that was put together by the Women in Action Network (WAN).

• Organizational Problem Solving: The four sites for which I inherited were getting multiple discrimination charges levied against them and the morale at the sites was low. I was able to put together senior leadership councils, civic councils and governance models at each Texas site which resulted in Texas having 0% litigations, 0% escalations to corporate and the escalation of HR’s reputation as a true business partner by its customers.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

AMAZON.COM 08/2010 to 08/2013

Sr. HR Manager Indianapolis, Indiana

• Developing an environment and relationship with associates that fosters open door practices which precludes a need for 3rd party intervention as measured by direct feedback from associates and Pulse Surveys.

• Established an expectation of HRBPs and HRAs that HR will increase its presence on the floor to ensure accessibility, mitigated interruption of business flow and reinforcing the partnership between HR and operations.

• Assist operations in the detection of barriers that impede their ability and/or their associates’ ability to execute their job functions.

• Continuously evaluating managers in areas where they have opportunities to develop skill sets that will allow them to be more effective managers.

CISCO SYSTEMS, INC. 08/1996 to 08/2010

Texas Sites HR Lead Richardson, Texas

• While in Worldwide Employee Relations for six years, I had responsibility for coordinating all HR functions in the South, Southwest, East and LATAM. This was a collaborative effort with GMs, VPs, Directors, Country Managers throughout Latin America and partnering with other stakeholders such as legal, finance, public relations and global security.

• Developed a strategic assessment of the four Texas sites (Richardson, Austin, Houston and San Antonio) around culture, employee relations activities and legal risks which spawned the development of governance models, senior leadership councils and operating committees that resulted in the most effectively run, remote sites, at Cisco.

• Upgraded the leadership of the “ERGs”(employee resource groups) which promoted a clearer support for “Inclusion and Diversity.”

• Successfully managed 4 “Limited Restructures” within 12 months across all Texas sites with 0% escalations.

• Established a cross-functional collaborative initiative through the sponsorship of community based programs i.e. Junior Achievement, Habitat for Humanity, Boys & Girls Club and food banks to help ‘brand’ Cisco in the community and promote camaraderie among the BUs.

• Managed the U.S. sales organization ensuring that 85% of the AMs were at or above plan.

• Ensured that compensation plans were yielding the kind of results that incented AMs to focus on selling the right mix of products in order to meet/exceed customers’ business needs and remain in alignment with Cisco’s compensation/sales model.

• Ensured that 100% of all AMs were trained in the latest and most proven sales skills to ensure maximum revenue growth for Cisco. YOY growth exceeded 13% as a result of the training.
