earthworks and a tunnel 5 km long. Works included the installation of railway equipment and

Description: total lenght of Project 5,3 km: viaducts with foundations on 800 mm poles for 2,8 km,

reconstruction and upgrading of existing viability 1,8 km, extensive use of reinforced earth and

berlin supports with micropoles of 300 mm.

it was subject to a tight completion schedule and received bonuses for quality and early

Road Access System from the Roma - Fiumicinino highway to the new Roma exhibition site

Description: This is a highway parallel to the Rome to Fiumicino motorway, work also included the

improvement of the interconnection with the Rome Ring Road. Total lenght of project 10 km;

earthworks included lightweight fills with EPS (earth and polystirene mix); 2 viaducts with

continuous steel beams (180 m): deep mixing ground consolidation; special foundations with

Soles poles; highway and motorway boxed overpasses without traffic disruption (P.E.C.B.V

and traditional systems). and various r.c. structures to bypass local roads, canals and and

irrigation systems.

New High Speed railway line Milan to Bologna, lot 1.2 Piacenza West interconnection

Description: Construction of 3.750 m (286 spans) of railway viaducts on r.c. and steel beams,

earthworks and an artificial tunnel.

Construction of the interconnection with the existing raiway line, 3705 m (5 viaducts, 111

spans) earthworks and 2 artificial tunnels.

Works included the installation of monitoring systems on viaducts and earthworks.

to November 2003 GRANDI LAVORI FINCOSIT S.p.A. – Cagliari (Italy)

Sa Stria Dam and ancillary works on the Monti Nieddu and is Canargius rivers

Client: Consorzio di Bonifica della Sardegna Meridonale;

Amount of works: ITL 75 millions (37,5 m €)

Description: - A RCC (rollcrete) 400.000 cu.m main dam, with an hydroelectric and pumping station

within the dam body, inclusive of the relevant equipment, spillway, consolidation and contact

grouting.

Ancillary works included a 20.000 cu.m r.c. barrage on the Rio is Canargius, a 3,5 m diameter

interconnecting tunnel (traditional method) with spritz beton and swellex anchor bolts.

Works interrupted following a request for arbitration by the contractor. Negotiations are now

underway to restart and increase the contract by about 25 m €.

All testing on works executed was positive.

Description: placement of 540.000 sq.m of open air concrete paving slabs on selected foundation

materials and geotextiles, upgrading and reconstruction of 3.800 m of crane support rails on

1000 mm poles interlocked by 50 and 100 tonn. cross members and stiffening steel cor-ten

structures. Construction of all cable ducts and drainage culverts and fire fighting grid, lighting

towers and all ancillary engineering structures

Description: partial dredging and mud clearing of the lake, construction of a barrage to divert the

course of the Tuvoli river and of a lifting and pumping station to a 600 mm 12 km long steel

pipeline leading to the lake.

May 1989 to May 1995: Site Manager

Laura Storage Basin (Campobello di Licata - Italy);

Client: Land reclamation body of Lower Salso, Caltanissetta;

Amount of works: ITL 40.000.000.000 (20 m €)

Description: construction of a 800.000 cu.m earthfill dam to form an 8 m cu.m basin; and of a 6 m

diameter 800 m long tunnel on the right bank, spillway and support works with 5000 sq.m of

deep (40 m) bank shorings and 45 tonn anchors. Works also included the diversion of the

Canale stream by barrage, and a canal partly underground (push pipe system).

Works suspended by the client for Project upgrading.

Leone Hydraulic Tunnel (Castronovo di Sicilia - Italy);

Client: Voltano di Agrigento Consortium;

Amount of works: ITL 20.000.000.000 (10 m €)

Description: A 4.850 m long 4 m circular diameter hydraulic tunnel under the Serra Leone pass

connecting the lakes of Fanaco and of Piano del Leone; works included the intake and outlet

structures and the hydraulic management of the nearby secondary river. Excavation carried

out by shielded tunneling machine (Tmb) with prelining concrete rings fabricated on site.
