PERSONAL I have excellent all round graphic design skills, building on the conventions of typography, page lay-

out, composition and colour theory, achieving balance rhythm and harmony between design elements.

STATEMENT My creative thinking and problem solving skills are combined with a practical approach to workflow,

production and presentation. My major strengths are my adaptability and meticulous attention to de-

tail combined with the ability to prioritise my work under deadline pressure. I am able to follow brand

guidelines consistently and am also able to synthesise research and client requirements with strong

conceptual skills to fulfil creative briefs. I am passionate about all aspects of design, from product

design and web design, through to design for the built environment. My varied interests help to inform

and inspire my practice as a creative graphic designer. I am self motivated and always aim to achieve

the highest standards both independently and as part of a team. My goal oriented, can do attitude will

be an asset to your company and your valued customer base.

Graphic Designer/ Visitor Management Systems Ltd (Long Eaton) Temporary Contract

Aug 2013 - Dec 2013

Responsabilities included refreshing the businesses brand, designing the companies new web presence

(weprintlanyards.com) and marketing materials. Collaborating with in house web, marketing, print,

and production specialists to provide a seamless, responsive service to both established and emerging

brands. Other responsibilities include tailoring extended identity systems for medium to large busi-

nesses. Working within brand guidlines to create full colour branded lanyards and identity cards. I

worked directly with both private and trade customers ensuring their designs are on point and that

their customer experience was of a consistently high standard.

Graphic Design & Marketing / Surface Gallery Contemporary Arts

Undertaking graphic design on behalf of the gallery, including leaflets, e-shots and display planning.

Engaging and expanding the galleries audience through online and offline marketing activities.

Assisting in the smooth running of the gallery and its exhibitions. Liaising and engaging with artists,

journalists, sponsors and the public. I also assisted in writing and developing funding applications.

Selling at craft and country fayres. Also taking commissions for bespoke portraits and graphic art.

Through this experience I developed my public engagement and self promotion skills. Designing and

implementing a website to assist customers in generating their own custom design briefs. I learned

how to run a small business, manage my own time effectively and other administrative skills.

Jan 2006 - Feb 2008

Helping the homeless with domestic housing and resettlement skills. Whilst undertaking this role,

I was responsible for assessing people’s independent living skills and implementing a suitable and

measurable plan of action. The role called for self motivation and the ability to motivate others. Clear

communication and thorough documentation were essential both within the team and other social and

health care agencies.

Supervising service user volunteers in a community cafe drop in. Through this experience I learned

about planning rotating cover of volunteers, assessing abilities, managing risk and supporting indi-

viduals with complex health and social care needs. Directing service users to appropriate rehabilita-

tion and employment services.

Student and auxiliary work in hospital and the community. Through this experience, I learned a

practical approach to assisting people with mental health problems. Assisting medical, social care and

voluntary sector service staff to enable recovery and resettlement in the community.

June 1998 - Mar 1999 Nursing Assistant / Learning Disabilities / Fosse Trust Nottingham

Auxiliary work with people with learning disabilities. Through this experience I learned the

importance of communication, both with individual service users and within the team.

Effective record keeping was essential to communicate between various service providers.
