Royal Air Force Fire & Rescue Service, Wittering, Cambridgeshire – Fire fighter –2008
– 2013
To provide fire cover for the Harrier Jet while pilots underwent training on both solo and duel
seated jets, leading to numerous opportunities that enhanced my experience as a crash
airfield fire fighter.
As a senior member of the team I was allocated more challenging tasks which I excelled and
shown good trade progression.
After the withdrawal of the Harrier Jet, Wittering became a domestic unit which enhanced my
knowledge of structural incidents and fire safety matters
Operational Tour:
• Afghanistan, Camp Bastion Airfield 2012– Domestic and airfield cover for crash
category 5A aircraft, including fixed wing, fast jet and rotary, military and civilian
aircraft. Crew member for aero medical and casualty handling to and from aircraft.
• MPA, Falkland Islands 2011 – Domestic and airfield cover to cover a category 5A
aircraft, including fixed wing, fast jet and rotary, military and civilian aircraft.
