EXPERIENCE
Assembler SPX Heat Transfer
2007 – present
Assembling tube bundles from blue prints specifications, hydraulic tube expansion,
explosive tube expansion and mechanical tube expansion within specifications of
quality control inspection, micrometers and calipers are used to measure the
expansions of the I.D. as well as the O.D. of the tubes. Shell/Channel hydro pressure
test the vessels need to be closed off at the couplings and flanges with bar plugs and
blind flanges. The flanges required different kinds of gasket designs like (paper,
graphite spiral round, and rubber). Channel hydro has a pass partition plate that has a
bolt assembly and separates the flow of water from the inlet to the outlet side of the
tubes. This process also requires quality control inspection of the torque of the bolts
and the cleanliness. The man way cover has multiple designs based on customer
requirement and can vary from a simple flange cover to a more complex multi lock
plug. The pressures on these test can be very high so it is very important that these
parts are installed with care. I also conduct pre shift meetings that discuss safety,
production, inspect our overhead cranes, and assign employees they’re jobs.
