Senior Electronics Engineer, ECM

Jun, 2009- Present

Design, operations, commissioning and maintenance of access control

systems, fire notification systems, mass notification systems, audio/video

systems, and camera/surveillance systems. My most recent contract was for

the Government of the Middle Eastern Country, Qatar. The commissioning and

testing of the final, IP based mass notification system was my

responsibility. The new DOHA International Airport consisted of each of the

afore mentioned systems and several Cisco 3750 routers. The interconnect

was a mixture of CAT 5&6 cable and multi mode transmission fiber. Many of

the devices on the network made use of POE (Cisco 1300 and 1500) or mid

span injectors for their power sources. LAN, WAN, VLAN and subnet's played

a particularly important role in getting these systems to function

together, yet not interfere with one another. Several forms of bridged

networks devices were used by me to facilitate communications between

different IP schemes yet maintain certain system architecture requirements

and security policies. This system was completely IP based and had 1350 IP

speakers, 925 IP based Microphones, 700 IP based noise detection units, and

thousands of discrete IP audio streams. This was an IED/IP based system. I

am IED /IP certified, Cobranet certified, and Livewire certified. To

summarize:

. Analyze network data to determine network usage, disk space

availability, or server function.

. Configure and define parameters for installation or testing of

local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), hubs, routers,

switches, controllers, multiplexers, or related networking

equipment.

. Configure security settings or access permissions for groups or

individuals.

. Configure wide area network (WAN) or local area network (LAN)

routers or related equipment.

. Website design. (Samples: servicemotorcorp.com, cgbeeo.cumulus.com)

. Evaluate local area network (LAN) or wide area network (WAN)

performance data to ensure sufficient availability or speed, to

identify network problems, or for disaster recovery purposes.

. Audio and video system engineering.

. Install and configure wireless networking equipment.

. Install network software, including security or firewall software.

. Install new hardware or software systems or components, ensuring

integration with existing network systems.

. Can terminate or finish virtually and form of cable of wire.

Senior Electronics Engineer, Sovereign City Oct, 2008-

Jun, 2009

Sovereign City Radio, was a professional (not internet based) multi-format

national broadcasting facility. I designed the computer automation systems,

analog systems, digital systems, and AOIP network to deliver professional

quality audio, video, and remote control, via satellite, to local

facilities around the United States. The core network (Cisco 6500 and

3750d), wireless access points (Cisco 1140, and 1250 for my high RF

environments) and wireless transmission points (Mosley and Starlink, as

well as HP Procurve and some others) I designed to ensure port management

restrictions (such as; QOS, IP address broadcasting, and Multicast

traffic.). I designed all Secure Area Networks (Firebox) and Storage

Servers to house the multi-million dollar music and advertisement

libraries, as well as, well known recording artists private audio pieces.

All security (both physical and virtual) were of my design. The physical

card access network (making use of the Cisco 6500 and a different VLAN)

used Homeland Security approved DSX system and Indigo Vision advanced

algorithm cameras and optics. I am Axia/ Livewire (AOIP) Certified and

worked as a consultant for Axia and Telos-Systems as a designer and

Engineer.

Chief Engineer, Cumulus Broadcasting Sep, 2001-Oct,

2008

I operated and designed 11 broadcast facilities with full broadcast quality

IP based audio, podcasting, and internet based streaming. My primary

function as the Chief Engineer, was design and consolidation of discrete

facilities into a single functioning facility, managing vendors and

contractors, participating in discussions with customers, consultants,

vendors and other dept personnel to ensure project completion. I designed

all aspects of every system. whether analog, digital, or "netcentric".

Security networks, to audio networks, storage networks, and business

networks for accounting and record keeping and Cisco Call Manager and Telos-

Systems 2101 for Phones (VOIP). I used Cisco Catalyst 4948, 2960, 2960s,

3960, and 3750 switches and wireless point to point (Mark 5,8,10 and 12)

and access points(Cisco WAP4410) for all networks. I received an award from

the President of Cumulus Broadcasting (Lew Dickey) for my design,

construction, implementation and commissioning of studio facilities, at the

National Association of Broadcasters in Las Vegas. I received my

certification in Wheatstone AOIP. To summarize:

. Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing

environments including computer hardware, systems software,

applications software, and all configurations.

. Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.

. Design, troubleshoot, and resolve analog systems, digital systems,

audio systems, video systems, hardware, software, or other network and

system problems, and replace defective components when necessary.

. Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect

millions of dollars of music inventory and related data, software, and

hardware.

. Configure, monitor, and maintain email applications or virus

protection software.

. Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems

and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use.

. High power audio and video transmitters, burst format and continuous

wave format.

. Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software and

operating system software.

. Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments need to

be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the

future.

. Confer with network users about how to solve existing system problems.

. Custom electronics engineering, power grid design, backup and transfer

power system design
