Iowa City, IA September 2006 – February 2008

A 12-bed Medical Intermediate Pulmonary Care step-down unit, one of two non-ICU

units that took ventilated patients. Acquired charge nurse experience on this floor and

acted as a preceptor through the University of Iowa School of Nursing. Unit had a nurse

to patient ratio was no greater than 1:3 based on acuity. I also acquired floor experience

with this position, patients suffered from acute pulmonary issues that usually
