BN/S2/Counter Insurgency Analysis Team, Afghanistan Contractor, United
States Army August 2011 - April 2013
Conducts all-source analysis, fusing intelligence derived primarily SIGINT,
HUMINT and IMINT, producing actionable intelligence products for the
Battalion S2. These products provide the most current information on areas
of operation targeted by CF/ANSF. These products give the war fighter
situational awareness needed to conduct missions effectively and
successfully.
CIAT contract involves a minimum of a one year tour to Afghanistan
supporting Battalion level S2 intelligence shops. Support is not limited
to the Battalion, but reaches out to other levels of operations i.e.
Special Operations. Individuals must be prepared to change locations
within Afghanistan at a moment's notice. Meetings with local nationals and
local shuras are encouraged to help build rapport and build local
personalities for the region.
Programs that are used daily at a proficient level are SIPR (with standard
Microsoft Office proficiency and mIRC chat), Palantir, TIGR and CIDNE.
Building relationships with government agencies to assist in collection
efforts in the AO assist in the production of actionable intelligence.
These systems help provide the analyst the tools needed to build optimal
situational awareness to the war fighter.
Collection Manager of a Counter-IED Analytical Team (CIAT), responsible for
coordinating ISR collection requirements, developing operational collection
plans, and evaluating the effectiveness of collection operations for the
team and battalion. Conducted multi-discipline intelligence analysis in
order to define patterns of IED network activity, analysis was briefed to
battalion, brigade, and division leadership. I prepared and presented
briefings at the battalion and brigade level.
Intelligence Operations Analyst, 55 Intelligence Support Squadron, Offutt
AFB, Nebraska
United States Air Force August 2007 - August 2011
Evaluates and analyzes intelligence data derived from worldwide locations
and multiple intelligence disciplines, and other sources on a daily basis
that leads to the creation of intelligence products, presentations and
reports that are used by RC/WC-135 mission planners, intelligence
specialists, 55th Wing and Air Component Command.
Deployed to Qatar on numerous deployments in support of USCENTCOM Operation
Enduring Freedom missions and Joint Chiefs of Staff directed Intelligence,
Surveillance, and Reconnaissance missions. Supports USSOUTHCOM, EUCOM and
PACOM directed missions. Coordinates joint efforts with multiple
government agencies/assets; tailored crew collection with advanced inter-
service and Government Agencies collection capabilities.
Maintains and updates worldwide Orders of Battle specific to the mission of
the 55WG. Queries both Modernized Integrated Data Base (MIDB) for force
structure and assignments and cross reference with GEMINI for recent
changes and updates. Information is programmed into Google Earth KML
databases to provide change updates. Data is used to update
daily/weekly/monthly pre-deployment briefings, country studies, and
operational certifications.
Operations Intelligence Analyst, 45th Expeditionary Reconnaissance
Squadron, Offutt AFB, Nebraska
United States Air Force May 2010 - December 2010
Deployed to numerous locations to include Qatar, Diego Garcia, Greece and
Japan as sole intelligence analyst with the 45th Expeditionary
Reconnaissance Squadron for Joint Chiefs of Staff directed mission
Deployed to multiple locations with no-notice to conduct RC-135S
operations. Provided crews with pre-mission briefings highlighting
emerging technology development. Provided daily situational reports to
commanders for decision making purposes to allow for optimal collection
opportunities. Monitored ISR missions, relaying time-sensitive
updates/focused collection to crews. Coordinated with other DoD
agencies/services using mIRC to obtain the most pertinent and up to date
information available.
Maintained Isolated Personnel Reports and Evasion Plan of Action ensuring
the most up to date information was passed to the aircrew prior to each
mission. Debriefed, created and disseminated mission reports after each
operational mission.
Operations Intelligence Analyst, 763rd Expeditionary Reconnaissance
Squadron, AOR, QATAR
United States Air Force August 2008 - October 2008 and February 2009- June
2009
Deployed to Qatar as an intelligence analyst in support of CENTCOM
Operation Enduring Freedom ISR missions.
Planned and briefed combat pre-mission sorties using information gathered
to highlight recent insurgent activity and locations. Supported Joint
Chiefs of Staff directed missions when tasked in the area of
responsibility. Assisted in creating a bi-weekly highlights briefing
apprised by the commander as providing/improving critical situational
awareness. Assisted in maintaining the RC-135 collection website which
allowed easy access to ISR collection information within the AOR.
Monitored personnel recovery events and tailored intelligence to crews
allowing for increased situational awareness during the events.
Coordinated ISR collection efforts by helping process information between
multiple ISR platforms, creating situational awareness to ground troops.
Performed random anti-terrorism measures in the surrounding areas of the
operating compound by inspecting vehicles, bags, personnel and packages,
ensuring security of base personnel.
