both to my work in the commercial environment and, I

Part of a team of ten nurses covering 10 surgeries in the
geographical areas Grangetown, Butetown, Cardiff Bay and
Riverside. This also included the homeless centres in the
area.
Study days attended: Pressure Ulcer and Wound Care,
Continence Promotion, Venepunture, Nursing victims of
burns, Male Catheterisation, Supra Pubic Catheterisation,
CPR, Immunisation & vaccination, Anaphylaxis, PICC Level

03.05 to 03.07 Intensive Care Unit, The Royal Glamorgan Hospital,
Llantrisant
REGISTERED GENERAL NURSE
The Intensive care Unit was extremely busy unit. The role
involved caring for critically ill patients, both medical
surgical and a variety of different specialties i.e.
respiratory, orthopaedic, arterial, and cardiac, urology,
colorectal etc, both emergency and booked admissions.
Staff rotated around a six bed intensive care unit and a
four bed high dependency unit.
09.03 to 03.05 Portman Ward, Blandford Forum Community Hospital,
Dorset
REGISTERED GENERAL NURSE
Portman Ward is a mixed ward which incorporates two
specialities:-
i. A medial unit, which included two palliative care
family rooms
ii.. A day surgery unit
I rotated between both units.
09.02 to 09.03 Intensive Care Unit and Surgical Unit - Salisbury
District Hospital, Odstock

Due to Salisbury NHS Trust not employing newly qualified
nurses in their Intensive Care Unit, I took a rotational
post firstly on a busy surgical ward. After six months I
transferred to the intensive Care Unit, which is the
regional burns unit for the area. The unit was very busy
and took both medical and surgical patients to Intensive
Care and High Dependency.

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS
I have been a member of the Territorial Army for fifteen
years ( with a 7 year break) I attended Royal Military
Academy Sandhurst in 2004
I enjoy swimming, step aerobics, jogging and going to the
gym - all to maintain my fitness and health. For
relaxation I enjoy reading, listening to a varied mixture
of music, travelling, and socialising, I am also a
volunteer for the Royal British Legion.
