Mathematics
KEY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE AREAS:
• Solid command of technologies, tools and best practices in designing mechanical equipment using
AutoCAD, SolidWorks and engineering drawings.
• Excellent finite element analysis simulation and laboratory skills honed from work as a researcher. Able
to design and fabricate hydrogels and ferrogels.
• Strong team collaboration skills. Work closely with team members to achieve engineering goals.
SENIOR PROJECT:
• Studied gelation time from hydrogels and ferrogels fabricated from the laboratory which is essential
when fabricating hydrogels for applications in drug targeting.
• Created models using COMSOL Multiphysics and studied the reaction of hydrogels to variation in pH.
• Contributed to the understanding of the characterization of hydrogels which are being studied for
application in cancer treatment.
SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE:
COMSOL; CATIA; SolidWorks; MATLAB; labVIEW; AutoCAD 2012; Abaqus; Microsoft Office Suite;
Windows 98/2000/ME/XP/Vista/7;LaTex-typing and presentations.
EXPERIENCE:
Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department, June 2012-August, 2013
Western Michigan University Kalamazoo, MI
• Demonstrated advanced skills in using MATLAB software in optimization of spacecraft trajectories
near Jupiter’s moon, Europa.
• Advanced MATLAB usage and optimization skills.
Mechanical Engineering Department, Research Assistant June 2012-August, 2013
Western Michigan University Kalamazoo, MI
• Handled simulation assignments that involved designing and studying hydrogels (Young’s modulus,
fixed charges, pKa and more). Became adept at using COMSOL Multiphysics for performing
simulations.
• Demonstrated advanced skills in finite element analysis and in clean room laboratory usage-hydrogel
and ferrogel fabrication.
Math Department, Math tutor September 2012-April 2013
Western Michigan University Kalamazoo, MI
• Helped students with their homework.
• Helped student raise her grade from a 70% to an 84%.
Department of Public Safety, student January 2011-January 2012
Western Michigan University Kalamazoo, MI
• Provided high level security by escorting students in Western Michigan University from one point
to another on campus.
•Maintained law and order on campus by walking around the campus and reporting any problems
back to the school via a radio which was used to maintain contact with the school dispatch.
