Preventive Medicine, School of Medicine. Dissertation Topic: Analysis of

Timing Effects of Pars Plana Vitrectomy for Removal of Intravitreal

Crystalline Retained Lens Fragments after Surgery for Age-Related

Cataracts. Advisor: Dr. John Rizzo. Coursework also included cost-benefit

analysis, pharmacology, simulation/modeling, and biomarkers. As part of my

PhD work, I performed an analysis of the proposed risk-adjustment

methodology for the Medicare Inpatient Hospital Readmissions Reduction

Program and how this might affect Stony Brook University Medical Center's

(SBUMC) reimbursement. In addition, I worked with several national

databases including the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Survey (BRFSS)

and the National Health and Nutritional Examination Survey (NHANES). I am

an excellent computer programmer and have programmed in C++, FORTRAN, and

assembler language.
