revenues exceeding $3.6 billion. Key businesses included The New York

Times, The International Herald Tribune, The Boston Globe, 8 television

stations, 23 regional newspapers, 5 Magazines along with a leading

worldwide internet presence.

Executive Director, Strategic Sourcing & Contracts

(2005 - 2013)

Sourcing executive directly accountable for delivering value through the

negotiation of company agreements for direct, indirect and capital spend.

Leveraged the volumes of 45 operating units which included; newspapers,

internet, television and radio operations, driving continued value and

ensuring delivery within the supply chain. Directly managed a team of up

to fifteen dedicated strategic sourcing and analytical professionals in

addition to extended 3rd party resources.

Led complex and critical negotiations, contributing over 10X return through

effective price negotiations, alternative sources of supply, improving

contract terms & conditions, identifying process changes and the

implementation of demand management strategies.

Developed and implemented category strategies and sourcing plans to take

advantage of economies of scale, drive economic value and position supplier

partnerships for success

Developed the Media Consortium LLC (MC), a purchasing consortium designed

to leverage the spending of Fortune 1000 companies, to deliver enhanced

savings of MC members of over $70 million.

Critical involvement with multiple BPO and ITO initiatives including;

vendor identification, financial and business term negotiations,

establishment of governance models, service levels and transition planning

of functions being shifted domestically as well as offshore to India and

the Philippines.

Directly involved with the divestiture of 35 companies, negotiating new

contracts, transition services and gaining assignment of existing

agreements in support of these sales.

Consolidated three procurement departments and critical vendor negotiations

Utilized statistical predictive models to measure the impact of changes in

key process variables to established service levels, staffing and web
