SUMMARY

Highly adaptive individual with competence in continuous improvement and

optimization projects in Manufacturing and Production Operations. Expertise

includes simulated modeling and analysis, capacity planning, statistical

analysis of data, process flow design and optimization, problem solving in

complex electro-mechanical manufacturing equipment and assembly

environment. Results oriented team player who meets or exceeds goals with

confidence and integrity.

JOB HISTORY

Senior Manufacturing Engineering General Motors Corporation 2002 -

Current

Project assignments and responsibilities.

. 6T - Six Speed Transmission Warren Michigan

Managed a cross functional team for the acquisition of a new dunnage washer

through the design, run-off at OEM, installation and SOP. Project budget of

$700, 000 and came in on time and under budget.

Transmission assembly engineer responsible for uptime, quality and high

efficiency of the assembly line. Worked on continuous improvement projects

to enhance and refine error detection capabilities of equipment. Employed

PFMEA strategies to reduce risk. Design and re-engineering to improve

uptime and reliability. Participated in team problem solving activities to

continuously improve on OEE (overall equipment efficiency) metrics. Applied

quality principles such BIQ and APQP to improve manufacturing.

. 4T - Four Speed Transmission Warren, Michigan

Responsible for the completion of a new Transmission Case subassembly cell

implemented for the 4T65E assembly line. Complete automation of various

assembly processes on the Case Subassembly. Project completed on time.

Extended role and responsibility as Lead Manufacturing Engineer for the

entire 4T65E assembly line engineers. Attended PET meetings to coordinate

necessary changes as it pertains to the assembly line. Attended CPIT

reviews to work and improve on quality related projects.

. HVV6 Engine New and Major Program in Tonawanda, New York.

Established course of action and accomplished the project timing. Worked

with PDT and PET in various areas to analyze product designs for the most

efficient and robust form of manufacture. Liaised between the Central

Engineering Group and Tonawanda to provide maintain project requirements

and goals. Worked with the OEM to develop systems and equipment that were

robust and in accordance with GM's manufacturing specifications.

Participated in manufacturing equipment runoffs at OEM's facilities to

verify and validate OEM's equipment to meet GM standards. Supervised the

installation of OEM's equipment to conform to layout specifications and

ensured that project timing was met. Runoff equipment in Tonawanda to fine

tune all loose ends and ensure equipment projected uptime matrix and cycle

time was on track and achievable. Participated in the PPAP with all

assembly equipments as well as production ramp up to meet "start of

production" objectives.

Special assignment - Production and maintenance lead. Supervision of the 16

production and maintenance personal on the lower intake and fuel rail

subassembly line for the HVV6 engine. Achieve reduction in one production

head count by streamlining the production process at the end of 6 months.

MTTR of equipment was improved by driving the principles of TPM and quality

PMs.

Staff Engineer IBM Corporation 1999-2002

. Utilized optimization and data analysis techniques in the "Chemical

Mechanical Polish (CMP)" department of the Microelectronics Division to

enhance the efficiency of production and improve productivity of equipment.

. Achieved 3.5% overall productivity improvement in the CMP department

in a year.

. Staffing modeling techniques with the utilization of time studies and

motion economy to optimize and balance operator-staffing levels and

streamline the flow of product through the introduction of "Best Know

Methods (BKM)".

. Identified and eliminated redundant operator methods to reduce

operator work load and hence improved operator efficiency by 3% in a year.

. Developed and provided accurate and timely data of process and

manufacturing performance parameters (Speed measurements, Operator

availability, Equipment availability, Cycle Time, Bottleneck indices,

Optimum equipment utilization) to understand productivity constraints and

drew up action plans to improve them.

. Exposed to the concepts of "Lean Manufacturing" and "Six Sigma".

Team Leader Inlaks Products. 1994-

1998

. Lead and coordinated the activities of a team of 23 engineering staff

members through the installation and running off a new aluminum impact

extrusion line.

. Recruited and trained engineering technicians and machine operators.
