Projects Accomplished

[I]. Integration of LTE (eNode-B) Layer 2 TDD stack with Mindspeed TDD Layer1 (August 2013– Till Date)

Description: LTE eNodeB TDD framework, Integration of Aricent L2/L3 stacks with MSPD TDD L1 on T2220 board for TDD technology (10MhZ)

Contribution:

• Evaluation and Requirements analysis for porting layer2 stack with Mindspeed layer1 TDD architecture.

• Design and coding for all the Mindspeed L1 interface requirement API’s for TDD specific with layer2 stack.

• Customizing software to adopt to interface requirements of Mindspeed Layer1.

• Implementation and support for 10MHZ feature with TDD configuration (2,7) as well as (1,7).

• System level debugging and fixing issues on layer2 stack those are come across while integration.

[II]. LTE (eNode-B) Layer 2 FDD stack – Layer1 Integration on T3300 board (Mar 2013– Aug 2013)

Description: The aim of the project was to integrate Aricent Layer2 with Mindspeed platform on T3300 board.

Contribution:

• Aricent IPR release 5.0.1 ported integrated with Mindspeed layer 1 on T3300 board.

• I had been part of some features implementation and optimizations in order to accomplish 32 UE support on layer2stack with MSPD L1 on T300 board.

• System level debugging and fixing issues on layer2 stack.

[III]. LTE-EPC Testing, Integration & Implementation of all nodes MME,HSS,PGW,SGW,PCRF (Oct 2011– Mar 2013)

Description: The evolution of LTE entails a whole new core network with a flat, all-IP based architecture. The SAE defined by 3GPP has the Evolved Packet Core (EPC) as its main component and Mobility Management Entity (MME), Home Subscriber Server (HSS), Serving Gateway (SGW),PDN Gateway (PGW),PCRF as the subcomponents

Contribution:

• Involved integrating all Nodes in to one Entity as EPC and configuring all nodes with EMS configuration manager.

• Created test plan for several features with different interface levels testing in EPC front.

• Evaluating nodes, Testing and integrating and validating different features in EPC with all nodes together and executing test plan for different scenarios.

• Problem investigation(e.g log analysis) to establish the rootcause of problem found in the field

• Involved End-End call scenarios testing with all nodes, finding issues in different nodes and reported to specific node.

• Provide support to customers and operators for test mobile testing, technology trials, troubleshooting issues

• Involved in pre-sales activities, handling demos and explaining features in EPC and resolving client quires.

Training and mentoring for new team members.

[IV]. LTE –EPC MME Node Development (Oct 2010– Aug 2011)

Description: MME is the key control-node for the LTE access-network. The MME Software Framework includes support for NAS, S1-MME, S11(Gtpv2), S6a(Diameter), S10, S13, SGs interfaces.

Support majorly all network scenarios which can follow in EPC network handling, Attach, Detach,Bearer handling,signaling,session management,network initiated procedures.

Supported features like Rel-8,IPv4,IPv6 support,SCTP integration with S1ap/NAS interface and S6a interface, subscriber tracing,TCE,SBC,CSG handling, Emergency call handling,S11 tracing,CBC,Rel-10 upgrade.

Contribution:

• Initial involvement in Requirement Analysis and of S1AP, S6a, S11 Procedures messages and all IE’s specifically of each and every message.

• Requirement Analysis of Subscriber Tracing functionality as per 3Gpp specs(32.421,32.423,32.423),Prototyping and Design for all messages and respective IE’s for MME Node interfaces such as S10(DIAMETER),S11(GTP).

• Coding and unit testing for management interface and encoding and decoding of messages of gtpv2 and NAS IE’s which are supported in call flows respective IE’s in S1AP,S6a, S11 interface.

• Written Release test plan for some of the procedures supported in EPC network such as Attach, Detach, UE &N/W Initiated dedicated bearers, bearer modification procedure and some other interface related messages and IE’s.

• Did testing for all S6a, S11 interface messages and some of the call scenarios .

• MME support IPV4 along with IPV6 it can able to communicate with any interface with any tupe of IP Address (either V4 or V6)

• SCTP Stack integration for MME-Enode-B(S1ap/SCTP) and MME-HSS(Diameter/sctp).
