and full functional implementation of work center capacity management
process (Dana)-In conjunction with Honda AEP purchasing, utilizing Kanban
systems, managed to eliminate over 350,000 pcs in customer past dues
(bearings) within a 3 month period. Achieving Honda's delivery award and
sustained in subsequent years.
? Systems Development & Optimization: (Dana)Design and implementation
of a PC-LAN database, "Customer Information Support System", to replace
over 30,000 antiquated product cards which supported all quotations,
order processing, and product history. (early 1990's MS DOS base systems
early in PC development) Key project team member to implement CMI
software to support Corp Customer Service department fully integrated
into 4 manufacturing facilities.
? Inventory Improvements: (Rittal) Implement WIP cycle count program to
gain improve inventory accuracy (L&W) Reorganized WIP storage areas to
facilitate effective "point of use" and FIFO requirements. In conjunction
with suppliers, carrier routings, and streamlined production scheduling
reduced WIP inventory by over $500K through streamlined scheduling.
(Dana) Working with process engineers and "out of the box" methods,
utilized 150,000 lbs of obsolete raw steel coil stock to reduce inventory
without scrap cost.
? Customer Satisfaction - Service: (Dana) Through Kanban innovation
Achieved Honda's delivery award. Through planning Methods and Process
improvements, eliminated 300,000 lbs in lined strip product customer past
dues within 4 months.
? Kanban Innovation: (Dana) Developed and implemented Kanban
replenishment systems for all high volume product throughout bearing
dept. as well as later spring boarding Kanban application into the lined
strip manufacturing department.
