Materials Manager Thetford Corp is a $45 million manufacturer of

sanitation products and chemicals for the RV and Marine industry.

Responsibilities include: Inventory Control, Materials Planning, and

Shipping/Receiving. Supervise 3 salaried and 7 hourly employees.

. Maintained 97% - 99% on time shipping and fill rate for Thetford

customer base.

. Reduced inventory by $2.2 million from 2008 - 2010. Worked with

Purchasing to establish supplier owned (china bowl) inventory at local

warehouse.

. Eliminated Thetford owned raw material inventory at outside warehouse

locations. This resulted in an annual savings of $65,000.

. Implemented finished goods kanban boards with the Elkhart warehouse

and supplier of portable toilets in the Netherlands.

. Led cross-functional team to implement use of returnable packaging

employees.

. Implemented (2) daily scheduling meetings with manufacturing,

quality, engineering, and materials.

. Reduced premium freight from $14,800/month average to $4000/month.

. Reduced indirect labor 20% for an annual cost savings of $82,000.

. Implemented supplier consignment on $150,000 of resin inventory.

. Lean Champion for Kanban. Attained SP1 level rating in 2002 and

developed action plans to attain SP2 rating (50% of plant) in 2003.

Kanban implemented on 100% of foaming cells and 50% of blow mold

machines by July 2003.

. Improved inventory turns from 19 to 55 turns (March 2003).

. Worked with Tier 1 customer to identify $480,000 packaging savings

using returnable dunnage. Was instrumental in design, prototype, and

testing.

. Active team member representing materials function for: TS16949,

ISO14001, QS9000 and QOS.
