OBJECTIVE:

To obtain a transcription position with a company that will allow me to use my organizational, communication and transcription skills to add to the profitability and success of that company.

EDUCATION:

Husson College, One Husson Circle, Bangor, ME 04401 -- 1975-1977

Associate’s Degree in Medical Secretarial Science

Old Town High School, Old Town, ME 04468 Graduated in 1975

Business-Steno courses

EXPERIENCE:

I worked in the transcription department at Redington-Fairview General Hospital for a year and a half from 1978 to 1980, under the direction of Betty Elias.

I have worked for Eastern Maine Medical Center in their laboratory and their medical records department at different times, 1975-1977 and 1980-1982.

I have worked for MaineGeneral Medical Center in Waterville, ME at various times in their medical record department as a transcriptionist of all phases of an acute care facility. I worked there from 1982 – 1987 and 1990 – 1998. My reason for leaving employment was the hospital merged with another hospital and they changed their transcription departments and I decided to terminate employment.

I worked from 2000-2001 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy, New York. My husband was transferred to NY with his job for that one year. I did transcription there and got various experience with ESL doctors at that NY facility.

I went to work for Med-Quist, Inc., at home at that point. I worked part time for Medquist, Inc., from 1998 – 2002. I worked with my husband in our business full time from 2002 until 2007 when I went to work for Colonial Adjustment, Inc. in their Waterville branch office.

I worked for Colonial Adjustment as a clerical support person with duties of transcription of reports for property claim adjusters and casualty claims adjusters. I also handled all aspects of operating an office, i.e., working with adjusters, telephone, fax, scanning documents and attaching to files to all major insurance companies that we deal with. I feel I have maintained my medical terminology usage with the casualty claims as the adjusters often quote from medical records to the companies on different accidents and medical conditions. We also deal with attorney’s offices and I have a background in legal terms as well.

My most current job was from August of 2012 until May of this year at MaineGeneral Medical Center as a transcriptionist in a training program to eventually work at home. I moved from Maine to Massachusetts in May of this year to join my husband. He had moved down here in October of 2012 to take on a new position in his field. I feel my training over that period of time at MaineGeneral was outstanding.

I would be interested in a part time position, 32 weeks, if available.

Personal references are available upon request.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Rose L. Provost
