Structural Maintenance Journeyman, 552d Maintenance Squadron, 552d Maintenance
Group, 552d Air Control Wing, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. During this period,
A irman Bigler's superior expertise and craftsmanship were evident during the assessment
and repair of a bird strike damaged C-130 wing leading edge. He expeditiously handcrafted
and installed replacement parts negating 56,000 dollars in supply cost and 2 weeks of
p rocurement time putting the aircraft back in the fight supporting Operations ENDURING
FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM. Finally, Airman Bigler skillfully completed six depot
directed defuel panel modifications. His contribution ensured fleet completion of this time
sensitive modification 6 months earlier than the rescission date. The distinctive
accomplishments of Airman Bigler reflect credit upon himself and the United States Air
Force.
