Description Norwich Union IT Solutions intends to create

single data platform for all Business

Intelligence requirements. NUI Business has

initiated Finance Migration project to bring

various source data to one single data warehouse

called EDW. Master data has been already brought

in to EDW in a pilot project Fast Track. Insight

2010 is aimed to bring all other Financial

Transaction data into EDW. The scope of Insight

2010 extends to the following:

Loading of Financial Transaction Data into EDW.

Automating the loading process using scheduler.

The whole Program was segregated into various modules which were executed

in parallel. The following are the modules handled by me:

1. Reinsurance Manual Feed

Module Reinsurance Manual Feed

Role Team Member

Description This is a manual feed of the RI data that needs

to be loaded into EDW. The following were

implemented in this module:

Duplicate and null checks

Exception handling

SCD type two History

Business validation of data, based on the user

specified business rules.

2. Creditor RI

Description The Creditor feed RI data is derived from the

Premium data already loaded into EDW based on

the match found in a Scheme file sent from

business. The following were implemented in this

module:

Deriving the Creditor data from EDW based on

business rule in scheme file.

Calculation of RI rate and amounts.

financial accounts payable data (claims & non

claims) from the oracle data base to EDW. The

migrated components had to be reconciled with

the GL components and Financial Data Repository

(FDR) in EDW. The following were implemented ion

extracting the modeling report for the same.

subject area in EDW for the cash and collections

of the quote me happy resources. This involved

in migration & posting of the cash and

collections financial data from the sql server

location to the Enterprise data warehouse &

posting the financial accounts to the General

Ledger.

Description This aimed to decommission the existing agency

feed to EDW and build a new feed and a database

in EDW. This also had to deal with amending the

existing components to support the new changes.

This involved in using web service

transformation to invoke a web service and fetch

data.
