Senior IT Project Manager Current responsibilities include project and
program management of initiatives with interaction and coordination of
multiple business and IT departments.
Significant Accomplishments:
. Project: OnStar site expansion for Palo-alto, Beijing and Israel.
This is an infrastructure project of approximately 10 members to on
board three new OnStar development offices. Project includes end user
computing, phones, physical security, system security and network.
. Member of the program management team that delivered major
release 4.6 of OnStar, including the RemoteLink Key-FOB
functionality with enhancements to custom developed software and
COTS. Introduced and applied Agile/Lean principles. The 4.6
Program release marked a major step in GM utilization of Agile -
Scrum at the program level. We managed 21 work streams with a
team size of approximately 100 members.
. Member of the program management team that delivered OnStar to
Mexico. Program featured a call center in Mexico and
enhancements to nearly all OnStar backend platforms for
internationalization / Mexico requirements. Custom developed
software and COTS were enhanced. This involved the co-ordination
and integration of 30 work streams / teams.
. Established and managed one of the first internally managed
development teams for project OSTA. This project delivered
custom developed software and CRM extensions for technical call
center advisers to trouble shoot and correct customer account
and vehicle issues.
Navistar/International Truck and Engine Corporation 1992 - 2010
Program Manager, Service Parts Strategic Projects - IT Responsible for the
management of strategic programs for the Parts division including strategic
planning, business relationships, implementation partners, software
providers and internal IT.
Significant Accomplishment:
. As program manager, delivered Distribution Requirements Planning
replacement, "Project Phoenix", a complex Oracle E-Business
implementation with 90 integrations, 50 extensions, as
restructuring of the service parts organization. This featured a
seamless implementation to the business, resulting in improved
forecasting and optimization of the supply chain. Profitability
continued to grow through deployment with no disruption to the
parts distribution centers. Navistar realized a $30M benefit
in the first 18 months since deployment.
. Researched, developed, and proposed the project life cycle,
including templates and tools, to support future large scale
strategic initiatives for the parts division based on the oracle
ebusiness suite of products. This proposal was incorporated by
the PMO group.
Manager, Service and Reliability IT Responsibilities included business
customer relationships, budget management, strategic planning (including
globalization and multi-brand), application portfolio, project portfolio,
and resource management. Projects included multiple Web enabled systems
(warranty through dealer support).
Significant Accomplishments:
. Established customer trust via a track record of taking
ownership for project deliveries and creating a customer-focused
posture for the service and reliability IT department.
. Earned a dotted-line reporting relationship to the VP of the
Customer Service Organization.
Project Manager, Enterprise Applications IT Responsible for major project
initiatives, budgeting, vendor management, resource plans, and project
execution from concept through delivery. Projects ranged in scope from
software development, COTS, ERP customizations, to research. Also served
as member of the Project Life-Cycle definition committee and provided
System Architecture influence/guidance.
Significant Accomplishments:
. "Common Vehicle Tracking" system; delivered a new global Web-
based functionality which tracked product flow and status
through the manufacturing process to product delivery for six
assembly plants. This system consisted of an "Enterprise" core,
3 new shop-floor systems, commercial SW, legacy ERP and order
systems. This software allowed for the redeployment of 90
employees across six production plants and process efficiencies
to achieve $6 million in annual benefit. Lead the diverse
project team of 40 employees and consultants, with on and off-
shore development.
. Served on the SDLC definition committee for manufacturing IT.
. Restructured Mexico production plant's ERP and shop floor
systems to accept all products made at a Canadian plant
. Delivered all computing infrastructure, software (commercial and
custom), and integrations for the operation of International's
Next Generation Vehicle Cab Assembly Plant.
Mexico Phase II Project, Team Lead - Shop-Floor Systems -Lead the project
team responsible for shop-floor systems from requirements definition
through implementation for International's Mexico plant new construction
and start-up.
Truck Manufacturing Shop-Floor Systems acting Manager -Manager of the IT
department responsible for development of new shop-floor systems as well as
support of existing systems at two plants and three joint ventures.
Vehicle Electronics Programming System Lead -Responsible for all aspects of
system enhancements to accommodate the evolution of vehicle electronic
control modules (Engines, ABS brakes, Transmissions, and Instrument
Panels).
Vehicle Electronics Programming System Developer - Designed, developed, and
deployed the software to "program" International's first electronic diesel
engine.
