RECEIVING
Me and my team receive printing press parts from all over the world that arrive at my dock "via" Common Carrier,UPS,Fed-Ex,Airborne etc.
We count the parts and verify that the quantities match the packing slips
We put all information into there computers to generate either a location ticket or a backorder label.
Parts with location tickets go into a bin and are sent to be put-away into there proper location.
Parts with backorder labels are also put into a bin, but are sent to the person or department the backorder belongs to..
SHIPPING
I have my shipper get pick tickets from the traffic office
The pick ticket describes part# and quantity to be picked. The shipper will then scan the bar code on the ticket using an I-TECH scanner which gives me the location where the part is.he gets on his picker and goes to the location, scan the location label and pick the part and quantity asked for. He then places all parts that are picked for that batch and bring them to the packing station to be packed and labeled for shipment.I watch over all packers to make sure they punch all information needed into the clipper ship program and apply label given onto package and set it on a pallet to be shipped..
I use the Clippership program to send UPS and Fed Ex shipments
I also use common carriers to send larger shipments out I create B.O.L's for each shipment
I ship out export shipments as well
