Responsibilities:

. As part of the new product development process, responsible for working

with purchasing dep. to estimate costs of the assigned new products.

Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities.

. Assigned new or sustaining products, serve as the product manufacturing

engineering technical interface between development engineering, test

engineering, product management, suppliers and contract manufacturers.

. Support Component Engineering by Ensuring Component Specification

Content meets PCBA DFM Requirements Support ECAD Librarians by

Ensuring Development of ECAD Library Parts which meet PCBA DFM

Requirements

. Ensure products are designed for manufacturability (DFM) from a

PCB/PCBA and system level (electro-mechanical) assembly perspective and

are designed to meet or exceed cost and quality objectives.

. Manage and coordinate product manufacturing readiness for PCBA and

system builds by prototype suppliers and contract manufacturing

partners.

. Review mechanical part drawings, assembly drawings, PCBA's. Generate

work instructions and (ODM) original design manufacturer's

specification requirements. Release these deliverables by composing

engineering change orders (ECOs), manufacturing change orders (MCOs)

and deviations using the product data management system.

. Develop, release and maintain system level Bill of Materials (BOMs),

using the product data management system.

. Ensure Proper Use of Approved Materials for PCBA Prototype, EVT, and

DVT Assembly and Test.

. Create product assembly techniques and manage prototypes, from a

technical engineering and material availability perspective.

. Summarize and drive closure of all technical issues by working with

appropriate development engineering teams.

. Perform high level statistical data analysis of yield, returns and

other data to understand quality issues and drive root cause. Drive

appropriate corrective actions with our quality team, suppliers and

contract manufacturers.

. Research and select OEM components like injection molded plastic

parts, sheet metal parts, cables, die cast parts and power supplies

for approval and system integration.

. Responsible for managing the Drafting/Design and Documentation Control

Departments. Mentoring and evaluating department personal performance.

. Check and approve all documents before release for distribution.

. Design Rack Mount chassis with emphasis in EMI reduction, airflow,

shock absorption, cable harness and ergonomics. AutoCAD 2D was used

for all mechanical packaging.

. Responsible for all PCB designs. PCB Platforms used were VME, IDE,

PCI, plus countless custom shape and size PCB's, Like Backplanes and

interface panels. PCB's were designed with Hi density, high-speed, SMT

technology FBGA's, like ACTEL, XILINX, PLX, MEMORY MODULAR DDR2,3

chips and others used throughout the designs.

. Create and maintain Component Specification Content that meets PCBA

DFM Requirements.

. Mixed analog/digital designs with Multi-power split plains,

differential pairs Time Delaying Tuning. DFM and DFT. All designs were

made to meet or exceed IPC standards.

. Troubleshooting PCB's, Identify problems and create appropriate rework

documentation.

. Design and implement an Electronic Engineering Change Request (ECR)

(ECO)

. Design and maintain all mechanical and electronic libraries.

. Products designed, are used by the U.S. defense and aerospace

industries, for major systems development in the fields of: Telemetry,

Range Data Acquisition, Range flight Safety and Command and Control.

. Some of the products designed are: Bit Synchronizers, D to A

converters, Multi-Channel Frame Synchronizers, Telemetry Data

Processors, Single Board PCM Data Systems, Video Doppler Processors

and Radar Tracking Ground Stations.
