Dear Hiring Manager,
This letter is to express my interest the Mechanical design position posted on your
website. I graduated from NYIT with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a
concentration in Aerospace Engineering. I am trying to get into the Mechanical/ Manufacturing
Engineering field and I am hoping this opportunity will provide me with the experience I need to
become a successful Mechanical Engineer. Currently I am Project Manager for a Mechanical
contractor. I know I may not have the necessary experience in the Mechanical Design
Engineering field; however I am willing to work and give you 110%. Just give me a chance to
prove myself and I am positive with my abilities and hard work ethic, that I would become a
valuable addition to your company.
My resume highlights my abilities and experience in the Engineering field. Such skills
include excelling in 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD), specifically designing in CATIA. I am
also familiar with AutoCAD. If you would like to me to send you some of my Design work in
CATIA I will gladly email you them upon request. I am proficient in CATIA and well versed in
part and assembly design. I can also learn other Design Programs rather quickly when trained
or learn on my own. I am also proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point in regards to
making spreadsheets, collecting/ organizing data and typing up daily reports.
In regards to professional work experience I am currently working for a General
Contractor that installs HVAC, Plumbing and Sprinkler systems as a Project Manager. As a
Project Manager I do take off estimation based off plans that are given to me, and oversee the
installation of the Mechanical systems. I am currently running two projects on my own and co-
running another two projects. I am deeply involved in the construction of Plumbing and
Sprinkler system from going on-site to see the progress of the project to the submittal process of
all equipment and material. I am also in charge of ordering the equipment and material for
these projects. I have two years’ experience in project management working for the Norwalk
Connecticut Department of Public works in which I made field investigations, verified Contractor
Conformance to City Standards, as well as the administration of public contracts and
government procedures. I also worked as a paving inspector for Sargis Associates; a
subcontractor for Yankee Gas, doing paving inspections for their various gas projects. I made
sure the paving crew uses the correct class of asphalt when making permanent repairs based
on city specifications and codes.
I thank you in advance for your time. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Please
do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
