1. LUMS Merit Scholarship: I was selected as the best applicant to the M.Sc. Economics program in the year
2012-2013 and was awarded the prestigious LUMS Merit Scholarship. The awards includes full tuition fee
waiver.
2. Certificate of Merit for Academic Distinction in the M.Sc. Economics (Dean’s Honor List Award): I
was awarded the certificate of merit for maintaining my CGPA above 3.6 d uring the Masters in economics
program.
3. Certificate of Merit for Academic Distinction in the B.Sc. (Hons) Economics (Dean’s Honor List
Award): I was awarded the certificate of merit for maintaining my CGPA above 3.6 for four consecutive years.
4. Certificate of Excellence for the performance in HSSC - I examinations: I was awarded the certificate of
excellence for being the 2nd Best in Academics in Cadet College Hasanabdal for the year 2007 -2008. The award
was based on the results of the HSSC Part I examinations.
5. Hijri Scholarship: I was awarded the Hirji Scholarship by the Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and
Secondary Education for being in the top twenty positions in the entire board exams.
PROJECTS
1. Technological Shocks and Inequality: I completed my Master’s thesis under the supervision of Dr. Syed
Muhammad Hussain. The topic of my thesis is “The impact of technological shocks on the wage structures and
inequality”. We are using the data set provided by the Panel Study of Income Dynamics (University of
Michigan) for this purpose.
2. Constructing a Simpler Productivity Index (Senior year Project): I was a part of the group that worked
with Dr. Abid Aman Burki to construct a new productivity index that could replicate the results of the already
established productivity indices like Malmquist Index and the Hicks -Moorsteen Index. We used the data from
the World Data Bank and PENN World tables to create a macroeconomic panel data set from the year 1980 -
2009. We succeeded in making the index that was much easier to calculate and did not require any linear
programming.
3. Income Inequality and Economic Growth – A Literature Review: This essay was submitted as the term
paper for the course Topics in Development Economics. This includes a survey of literature regarding the
relation of economic growth and the impact of economic growth on the Income Inequality.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
1. Instructor Statistics and Data Analysis (LUMS): I am currently teaching Statistics to the second and third
year students at Lahore University of Management Sciences.
2. Teaching assistantship of Applied Microeconomics and Mathematical Applications of Economics: I was
selected as the teaching assistant for Applied Microeconomics and Mathematical Applications of Economics
during my graduate degree. My responsibilities included the grading of quizzes and helping students throu gh
regular office hours. Apart from that I taught STATA to the students of Applied Microeconomics through
tutorials.
Other Teaching Assistantships: I have mentioned the most recent experiences above. In addition to these, I
was also appointed as the teaching assistant of Real Analysis-I, Calculus-I, Calculus-II.
COMPUTER SKILLS
STATA
I am a regular user of STATA and have been using it as the primary statistical estimation software during my
undergraduate and graduate degree.. I have taken a total of four STATA based courses including a couple of
courses in Research Methodology. Within STATA, I am particularly well acquainted with the data management
and in-built regression estimation. I also have experience of using the coding features of STATA to get the
desired results.
MATLAB AND OTHERS
Also, I have a strong grasp over the MATLAB (C-Programming Language) and have used it as the primary
softwares to solve many of my assignments. In addition to all this, I am an adept user of Microsoft Excel,
Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point and Adobe Flash.

In addition to this I have worked with Doctor Abid Aman Burki in collecting primary data from Toyota outlets
in Lahore. I was the part of the survey team that was hired by Doctor Burki to conduct outlet evaluations.
INTER-PERSONAL SKILLS
1. I was appointed as the Assistant Director of the department of delegate’s male accommodation in the annual
Science Olympiad, PSI-FI 2011 held at LUMS. During this I controlled a tea m of volunteers and was
responsible for the lodging and hosting of the d elegates taking part in the event.
2. I was appointed as the project coordinator for two projects during my undergraduate coursework. One of
these projects was about the impact of the Shall carry law on the crime rates in the US and the other involved
preparing financial documents of an imaginary firm.
