I am looking to leverage my front office experience in derivatives, trading and management into
a consulting role that will offer me a better work/life balance.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
SPECIAL PROJECTS CONSULTANT JULY 2013 - PRESENT
BNY MELLON
Working to resolve the bankruptcy claims related to the bank’s derivatives trades with
various Lehman Brothers entities
• Researched and documented initial basis for claims
• Met with legal counsel to understand legal aspects to claim process
• Successfully sold claims that were in favor of the bank
•Worked with Finance to make sure all receivables, payables and reserves were properly
offset upon the resolution of each claim
•Currently on final step of project: negotiating directly with Lehman regarding claims in
which the bank owes money to the Estate

Managed a group that was responsible for all fixed income, equity and FX derivatives trading
done by the bank in its capacity as a customer facing market maker
• Staff included traders, quants, technologists and trade administrators
• Business mix was roughly 70% fixed income, 20% equity and 10% FX
•Worked to develop a strong team environment that promoted cross-asset awareness and
big picture goals
Day to day responsibilities included:
•Reviewing open risk positions in all three asset classes via open discussions with traders
•Analyzing historical hedge performance with a view towards optimizing risk reports
• Interfacing with managers of support areas such as:
oRisk Management (for any issues related to risk limits or measurement)
o Accounting/Finance (for matters surrounding p&l recognition)
oBack Office (for any larger trade discrepancy or workflow issues)
•Transacting in a “Management Trading Book” with an eye towards hedging overall
group performance and protecting the bank in extreme market conditions
Ad hoc responsibilities included:
• Overseeing quant and technology staff with respect to new product development and
existing model improvements
• Driving business efficiency projects within the Front Office (trade capture automation,
electronic data organization, etc.)
• Making regular presentations to senior management about business achievements and
aspirations (CEO, President, CFO)
• Allocating resources and deciding upon future business strategy (including p&l targets
and risk limits) during the annual planning process
• Being a member of the Global Markets Management Committee with an eye towards
building greater synergies across Derivatives, Capital Markets and spot FX trading

Ascended to Senior Trader over a period of actively trading a wide variety of interest rate
derivative products within a joint venture that quadrupled revenues during a ten year period
• Final role within JV was as portfolio manager for all USD risk:
oDelta hedging using simple swaps, FRAs, futures, Treasuries and Agencies
oVega management including European vs. Bermudan swaption basis risk
oCorrelation hedging between delta and vega (i.e., normal vol approximation)
oGamma management through the use of short dated options
oSkew management via both swaption and cap/floor spread trading
•Trading strategies and tools constantly evolved in response to both economic and market
conditions
•Earlier roles included market making to client base along with spreadsheet and model
development
Attended SIG training class at their headquarters in Bala Cynwyd to study market-making
strategies and conditional probability (with a heavy emphasis on Seven Card Stud)
