Experience: Lander Regional Hospital:
Lander, Wy.
I am currently a therapist in a small regional hospital.
My assigned goal, when hired, was to help set up
and institute a pulmonary rehab program at this facility. This goal was
achieved in February 2013, and we have already graduated
several patients from our program.
Skills and Responsibilities:
Set up and monitor all ventilators, CPAP and BIPAP's. Draw
and interpret arterial blood gases in order to make
accurate ventilator changes. Provide inhalation therapy with IPPB, SVN,
LVN, continuous nebulization, and MDI instruction.
Experience in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab. Attend all traumas,
codes and rapid responses. Provide all EKG's for inpatient, outpatient, ER
and pre- op. patients. Attend C-sections and
complicated deliveries as needed. Perform oxygen analysis
and titration. Aerosol therapy for post-op and all in-patients as assigned.
Any and all other cardio- pulmonary needs as required.
Stevens-Henager College:
Murray, Ut.
I served as Adjunct Instructor at Stevens Henager College in the
Respiratory Therapy Department. My duties included direct
classroom instruction of RT students in core courses including
but not limited to: bronchial hygiene, aerosol drug therapy,
pulmonary function testing, pulmonary rehabilitation, humidity
and bland aerosol, lung expansion therapy, storage and delivery
of medical gases, medical gas therapy, respiratory therapy
protocols and algorithms; and other courses.
Lincare:
Orem, Ut.
Performed in-home set up of DME such as CPAP, BIPAP,
oxygen, and bilirubin lights and apnea monitors. Provided
a service to doctors by setting up overnight oximetry and apnea monitoring
for their patients. We delivered and picked up the monitors
from the patient and then downloaded and delivered results
to our physicians.
Lifeline Medical Staffing:
W. Jordan, Ut.
Worked as an Agency Respiratory Therapist. My contract was at
Utah Valley Specialty Hospital. This is a Long Term Acute Care
facility. It has a Med-Surg and a High Observation Unit.
Skills and Responsibilities:
Manage all ventilators. Draw and analyze arterial blood gasses
to determine proper vent changes. Determining a patient's
readiness to come off the vent. Performing routine trach care.
Ability to work directly with physicians to accomplish effective
and appropriate ventilator weaning. Determining when to wean and
de-canulate our trached patients. Proper management of BIPAP,
CPAP and IPPB therapy. Providing proper inhalation therapy,
using SVN, LVN, MDI treatments. Oxygen set up and analysis.
Aerosol set up for trached and non-trached patients.
Mountain View Hospital:
Payson, Ut. I worked as the sole
therapist on the night shift for 5 years. I provided all cardio-pulmonary
needs on my shift. This is a 130 bed facility with
ICU, Med-Surg, Peds, Ortho, OB, Step Down and Psych units.
Skills & Responsibilities:
Attended all traumas, codes, rapid responses and any
emergency or high risk deliveries such as pre-term,
merconium, and C-sections where newborn resuscitation may be required. Set
up and managed ventilators in the 12 bed ICU.
Performed routine trach care. Drew, analyzed and
interpreted ABG's to evaluate and make appropriate vent changes. Informed
physician after evaluation to determine patient's
readiness for extubation. Set up and managed all CPAP, and
BIPAP machines. Performed routine and urgent inhalation therapy using SVN,
LVN, continuous Neb's and MDI's. Performed oxygen
analysis, and aerosol set-ups. Responsible for all "stat" and
routine EKG's for the hospital. Set up Holter monitors in ER as
needed. Things I learned doing this job are: time
management, setting and re-setting priorities, organization skills, and
proper and timely calibration of QC of equipment.
Valley Home Medical:
Midvale, Ut.
In addition to working at Mountain View Hospital, I worked
the summer as a home health provider in Salt Lake, Tooele,
Wasatch and Summit Counties. I was responsible for delivery, set up and
monitoring of DME such as, home oxygen, CPAP, BIPAP, suction,
nebulizers, and aerosol therapy.
Plexus Corp, (formerly SeaMed):
Bothell, Wa.
This company specialized in contract medical manufacturing.
It utilized medical professionals from various
medical backgrounds to aid in the design, or redesign of their products. We
built a working prototype of that customers' product.
These companies wanted help from medical professionals
who as end users, would help design and make their product user friendly.
We also needed the product to pass human and non-human use
trials and receive FDA approval. They wanted input to
ensure end user ease of operation. My team helped our customers to get
their product built, tested and ready for an initial
production run. We worked directly with the customer,
company engineers, their vendors and their R & D teams.
Skills & Responsibilities:
Medical grade soldering. Interpretation of drawings and
schematics. Time management.
Problem solving. Wrote assembly instructions. Document
control experience. Safety team member.
Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center:
Meridian, Ms.
Performed all cardio-pulmonary needs throughout the hospital,
including: Set up and management of ventilators in both ICU, and
NICU. Set up ventilators daily for CABG patients in the CCU.
Responsible for all stat and routine breathing treatments in all
departments. SVN, MDI, IPPB and other therapies as directed.
Attendance at all traumas and codes. Set-up up of suction and all
types of oxygen and aerosol therapy equipment. Monitoring and titration of
all patients on oxygen. Assisted other team members in the
bronchoscope and PFT labs. Performed routine and stat EKG's
throughout the hospital. Set-up and monitoring of all vents in all units.
Education: Ameritech College:
Provo, Ut.
I graduated from an accredited medical assistant program and I
am a Certified Medical Assistant.
I also graduated from a Limited Radiology program, but have not
taken the certification exam yet.
Meridian Community College:
Meridian, Ms.
I graduated in 1995 with a degree in Respiratory Therapy, as a
CRTT. As a student I was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and I
was honored in 1995 in "Who's Who of American Jr. College
Students", and was voted Respiratory Student of the Year by the College of
Respiratory Therapy.
Utah Valley State College:
I went back to school with the intension of getting a degree,
but I only attended UVSC for only one semester before
moving to Mississippi due to my husbands change in employment.
Brigham Young University:
I attended BYU for only one semester prior to getting married.
My initial goal was to go into the nursing program, but
after getting married I moved with my husband who was in the military.
