United Way of New York City (1997 - June 2013)
As Vice President, Chief Information Officer, reporting to the
COO, responsible for telecommunications, all technology operations,
security, systems development & maintenance and user support. Promoted in
2000 from Director of IT.
Was responsible for the successful development and operations of IT
infrastructure (hardware, software, security, etc.) to process over $500
million in donations for the September 11th Fund. Lead a group of
development teams to effectively coordinate solution components -- The
following companies donated resources: IBM, Microsoft, McKinsey & Co.,
KPMG, Yahoo, Arthur Andersen, iBasis and Compaq.
Conceived and implemented eCommerce application for electronic campaigning
(companies served included: Federal Reserve Bank of NYC, Merrill Lynch,
McKinsey & Co., NYSE, Hearst Corporation, The Limited, Keyspan, etc.) and
managed buildout of site co-location at ISP - produced over 300 thousand
pledges valued at $100 million+. Is a member of senior management
operations team; coordinator of volunteer IT executive advisory committee;
member of national United Way internet strategies steering committee.

As MIS Director, reporting to President of $30 million agency, responsible
for planning, organizing and supervising the agency's information
services and data processing, including establishment and coordination of
systems, programs and operating procedures; acquisition and implementation
of all applicable software and equipment.
Created clinic appointment scheduling system handling 450 visits per
week for 50 active clinicians; established access from remote sites and
links to Medicaid for electronic billing.
Evaluated major PBX vendors & products; negotiated, implemented &
administered Northern Telecom Meridian Option 11 PBX telephone system
supporting 150 users.
Planned, installed & maintained 100 user Novell LAN, including
cabling, communications, fax and print servers.
Consolidated three peer-to-peer LANs and migrated to new
administrative offices.
Installed LANtastic 5.x / 6.0 LANs in five separate departmental

implementation & modifications of Chemlink, Chemical Bank's worldwide on-
line cash management computer system. Designed and coded major system

exchange rates, target balances and foreign & domestic wire transfer.
