Assist specialty Doctors with procedures such as colonoscopies and EGDs

Set up procedure room assign to, with a scope packet, sterile bucket, sterile water connecting to smart cap

and irrigation tube and connecting scope to the tower, test scope white balance, air, suction, and water.

Assist RN by bringing in patient and connecting the 5 leads, oxygen tube, BP cuff, pulse ox, situate patient

by lying on the Left side with knees bent towards the chest and draping them for the procedure. (Bite

place in mouth of patient if EGD procedure).

Record times such as start time of the procedure cecum time and end time for the colonoscopy/EGD, and

biopsies taken on a pathology sheet.

Watch the monitors and be an extra eye to look for polyps or abnormal tissues in the procedures for the

doctors.

Take biopsies of abnormal tissues and polyps with large and jumbo forceps or snaring then send to

pathology for evaluation to determine abnormalities.

Pre clean scopes with enzymes to flush out stool in scope and coil the scope placing it in a transport bag

and clean outer of the scope.

Transport scope in red biohazard bins to the decontamination room

Briefly trained for ERCPs (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography)

Knowledge of the ERBE machine use for snares and APCs and ERBE gun for ERBE lifts and balloons.

Assist with pain management procedures, liver biopsies, kidney biopsies, pelvic biopsies and TEEs by

obtaining supplies and Ultra sound machines and setting up the procedure room for the doctors and
