WORK EXPERIENCE
Interned at Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Hyderabad, India January 2012-May 2012
Undergraduate Thesis: “Separation of Organic-Organic and Inorganic-Organic Mixtures Using Membrane
Techniques”
Analyzed the separation of various compositions of membranes and feed under varying parameters of
pressure, thickness and residence time and found the optimal parameters for the separation of various
combinations
Techniques employed: pervaporation, membrane contactors and membrane distillation
Methods during experimentation: electron microscopy, refractometric analysis and gas chromatography
Interned at Anjani Powder Research Center, Hyderabad, India May 2011-July 2011
Project: “Effect of Tangential Velocity on the Performance of Uniflow Cyclone”, in collaboration with Dr.Pitchumani
Balakrishnan of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi
Designed a uni-flow cyclone for dust collection in a cement plant
Designed a novel instrument to measure the tangential velocity of rotating blades in the uni-flow cyclone
Analyzed the effects of tangential velocity, particle characteristics and cyclone design on the collection
efficiency
Improved the efficiency of dust collection in the lab scale
Industrially trained at Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC), Hyderabad, India May 2010-July 2010
Under the supervision of senior scientists in a premier multidisciplinary Nuclear Research Centre of India,
BARC, in Mechanical Unit Operations
Trained on how to approach several industrial problems and tackle them right from processing raw
materials, to the elaborate calculations and modeling equations
Research:
William Lowrie Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering
1.) Research on “Thermodynamic Comparison of Carbon Value Addition Pathways” in collaboration with Dr. Bhavik
Bhakshi, Professor, The Ohio State University August 2013-December 2013
Life Cycle and Thermodynamic Assessment in anthropogenic Carbon cycle where I compared pathways and
identified techniques preferred. Also weighed Energy, Water, Land and Economic demands employing SimaPro,
EcoLCA, inkscape, Dia, iTree, Geographical Information Systems, eSankey!
2.) Completed project in “ Carbon Network Diagram Involving Capture, Sequestration and Recycle” in collaboration
with Dr.Bhavik Bhakshi, Professor, The Ohio State University May 2013- December 2013
Composed a network diagram by calculating the carbon and water footprint along with economic input-
output analysis, overall compiling a novel and detailed pathways of all present carbon capture and
sequestration technologies employing Dia software, iTree and SimaPro
3.) Completed a project on “Sustainability Studies of Waste Management, comparing Sweden and USA”, employing
the Life Cycle Assessment tool, SimaPro March 2013- May 2013
Comparisons between Sweden and the United States involved social, economic, and geographic concerns
besides the ecological impact study. The results explain where the regulations of the country are lagging and
the socio-economic cause and effect
