Recruited by Silcar Communications, to partake in an Australian government funded initiative to
deploy fiber optic upgrades throughout the Australian continent. This was a 3 month contract
position in which I was brought in to provide leadership and guidance to staff based upon my
extensive background as a Fiber Optic Technician.
• Worked hand-in-hand with management to increase accuracy and
efficiency
• Trained new hires on how to prep fiber cables and splice ribbon cable

Fiber Optic Technician
AT&T is one of the top communication companies in the country. Throughout my 25 years of
experience as a fiber optic technician, I have utilized my strong work ethic and leadership skills to
partake in highly sensitive projects that depended solely upon my competency and efficiency to
evaluate the work environment in order to develop a plan of action, which would minimize or
prevent any downtime for the customer being serviced.
• Install, disconnect and upgrade customer services
• Install splices in various types of communication cables using a wide
variety of equipment
• Preparation of fiber cables and splice trays
• Lashing of single and multiple fiber cables.
• Mass fusion of multiple strands in ribbon fiber cable
• Ribbonizing of single strand fiber.
• Fiber testing of all distribution cables. Fiber testing of all transport and

correct Db loss requirements, as needed
• Read, review and interpret complex blueprints and schematic drawings
related to fiber placement within a given setting
• Identify fiber faults by utilizing test equipment, along with extensively
developed troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
• Troubleshoot and problem resolution using test equipment to find faults.
• Repair and maintain outside cable facilities.
• Ability to climb ladders and utilize bucket trucks while transporting
heavy equipment
• Experience with manholes, handholes, aerial plant, customer premise
work & direct buried plant
